The front office's focus right now should be how to maximize him going forward. Find the right players to put around him and figure out what players on the roster compliment him well.

I'm intrigued by the Barrett/Robinson pick and roll and i think Randle is a nice fit with him also.

That leaves 3 keepers in the starting 5. Morris and Payton are fine stopgaps but obviously not long-term solutions. Knox and Trier seem like nice scoring pieces off the bench for now. Frank can still be a nice backup PG who compliments Barrett. Smith probably can't. Brazdeikis and Dotson can be roster pieces but probably not rotation pieces.

For now i see 4 definites (MItch, Randle, Knox, and Trier) who make sense. But we need to be searching for a PG and wing.

Barrett is showing his ability as a 2-way play-making wing capable of being a top scoring option down the line. It's refreshing with how well Porzingis is playing in Dallas and how Zion is hurt, making the RJ pick make more and more sense every day. With the Porzingis sting still present, we needed another potential franchise player to ease the pain. Barrett seems like a hard working kid who has no red flags overall. The Knicks better not screw it up.

You're being too kind. We have two blue chippers (19 year old RJ and 21 year old Mitch) and very little else. Build around these two. I'd trade anyone else to get the best fitting parts for the two youngest knicks to grow with.

KP would've been a nice addition….Oh we already had him.

In order to build around these guys, we have to remove the stink. Starting 0-3 is not the way to do it. So while the stink is still here, lets hope Knox steps up as the 3rd promising young stud. He has the offensive potential, just not as agile as RJ, or as strong. I think he's stronger than last year, but his agility is the same. I think his best position is PF. But until he gets stronger, he's still a tweener to me, on defense. Over powered by PFs and minimum lateral quickness for SFs.

Well that's essentially what i'm saying. RJ and to a lesser extent Mitch are who we are building around. Knox, Randle, and Trier are the 3 other guys i believe are keepers going forward. Everything else is completely up in the air.
