I'm shocked my login still works after 13 years. :)
So, just wanted to pop in and say hi to Andrew, Martin, Mr. Earl and some other folks names I remember. I kind of fell out of love for the NBA in recent years. Not because of Golden State's super-teaming and not because of how many times we as Knicks fans have been snake-bitten over the last 25 years but... I really am not enjoying today's NBA and how diva-ish a lot of today's players are and how you're punished for attempting to play any defense.
I'm hoping that Scott Perry will continue to be allowed to do his job and I'm liking what I'm seeing from him so far. I like RJ Barrett's ceiling a lot more than Zion's and hopefully, folks will allow him to grow and mature and develop since, from what I've seen from some Duke games, I think he's got superstar potential. There's NOTHING like having a home-grown superstar. Remember, he's only 19.
And, hey, good for the Nets. I'm happy for them. They left the swamp for Atlantic Avenue 7 years ago and pretty much used the Spurs model in terms of team building without the benefit of any picks. You have to roll the dice and get lucky to build a champion and they're certainly doing that risking the strong culture they've built on a very talented, very skilled headcase and a mentally soft superstar with rabbit ears on the wrong side of 30 coming off a potentially career-ending injury. You need strong leadership on the floor and I don't know if these two are gonna provide that. Even still, a Knicks/Nets playoff series (imagine if it was East Finals) would benefit the city and I love my hometown but it's still Knicks over Nets for me.
That's all. Just dropping in to say "hi" and hopefully we can start changing the narrative the NBA media and fans has on our team.
