Think this is a good analogy.

Except you forgot to mention a little bit about yourself. Your a guy that hasn't done anything in 19 years. NO good looking girl wants anything to do with you. Your main man is a fat little man with a Napoleon complex who knows very little except for burgers, pizza and jazz clubs. Your out of shape, ugly and completely disfunctional. You thought you were cool a few years ago bringing out dance moves from the 90s. Only to become a laughing stock. All you like to do is brag about how good you were in the 70s. Problem is, no one gives a **** anymore.

Fact is NY, Dolan, Uncle Phil and Mills ****ed up one of the few relationships worth a damn in the last 20 years. Sure many will act like it was him not us. Probably the same that booed him draft night only to jock on the bandwagon later on. Should we keep crying about it...hell no. But lets not pretend it was caused by the kid, kids brother or injury and not by the **** show management we all know all to well. Kid will ne a beast. And another major mistake by this recent FO. Hopefully we can recover quickly from it.

really? i don’t quite get this. what exactly did the knicks ever do except kiss kp’s ass from the first day of starting him and making him the next great thing? in fact phil got his ass escorted out the second he started throwing any shade toward prince kp. i highly dispute your take. this team and this town were offered on a silver platter to kp and he and his family totally screwed the pooch and as a result can enjoy their exile to the cattle state.

You forgot the MAIN reason he wasn't interested, and that's because you were not paying attention or listing.

The TWO brothers(prior to the end of the 2017/18 season in march) told NYC and the F/O that he wanted to see improvement, he wanted to see them take winning serious, and they said fck you, were are going to lose, and were going to lose big time, we are running the show here, if you don't like it, KICK ROCKS.

If they were kissing his ass, they would have hired a more experience coach, assembled a better roster, find a way to mend relations with Melo, and build from there...

Mills is Phil without the triangle and twitter...

Have you ever seen PERRY give a press conference without steve mills..maybe once

Did you ever see steve mills (the GM) give a press conference without Phil jackson..NEVER

Wow. That's out and out crazy talk.

Anyway . . .

2017 starts out with kp surrounded by vets in the starting lineup - kanter, haradaway, jack, lee. Sessions actually started the 1st 3 then jack from there on. Kp starts off with a bang. 29 and 8 on 48% 2's and 36% 3's in october, knicks are 3-3 (3-0 with jack).

By november kp's already starting his yearly tailoff pattern . 24.6 and 6 on .46 and .42 for the month. Knicks are 8-7 for the month, 11-10 overall.

December he's 22 and 7 on .41 and .32. knicks go 7-8, 18-18 on the year.

January: 20 and 7 on .42 and .46. knicks are 5-11, 23-29 overall.

Kp goes down on feb 6, knicks go 6-24 rest of way to finish 29-53

Knicks then add knox, robinson, trier, give vonleh, mudiay, hezonia a shot. Kp's out for the year. Zion's on the board. Capspace is coming up. They tell kp let's hold off on extending so we'll have +10M for free agents. I still don't understand how anyone doesn't get it that tanking and youth development were the objects for the year. Both accomplished. That's what's going to turn this franchise around - the return of kp, developing young guys, free agents, a high draft pick. Let's go.

Kp's in - until he's not. Bang - kp and janis: we're out. Trade us to one of these 4 teams or we're off to europe now and we ain't signing. Knicks - F U, enjoy texas and then get the best deal in the face of the turncoat move.

Present time - we're loaded with young promising guys, great complement of vets, draft picks to come. No bloated-contract, injured, lockerroom cancer "stars." In the face of kp's defection, couldn't have turned out better.

That's the universe i live in.

Does the Universe you live thinks the Knicks organization has been doing a good job? Not dysfunctional?
I mean, I keep saying things are getting better but anyone that keeps ignoring what the entire NBA, basketball community, FA players have been hinting the Knicks has been a **** show for years now , seems to be the ones in alternate universes.

take a look at some these quote from 2017

Well, the organization could be headed for a similar crisis in the future after the publication of an interview with Porzingis’ brother, Janis, who said his ultra-talented 7-foot-3 sibling could bolt if the Knicks don’t reward him with superstar treatment. Porzingis, the brother said, is essentially the Knicks’ meal ticket.

“The second question is: Who is the New York audience coming to watch now?” the brother said. “To a large extent, it’s Kristaps. So the organization has to take that into account.

“The most important question here is this: What do you really want to achieve in your career? Because money – if Kristaps performs at least on his normal level, is gonna come. We are more focused on some other values and not just to quickly sign a new contract so we can collect the money,” the brother said. “That’s definitely not our goal so we won’t be feverishly counting minutes or counting points.”

In the translation, Janis said, “We are more focused on some other values [than money] and not just to quickly sign a new contract so we can collect the money. That’s definitely not our goal, so we won’t be feverishly counting minutes or counting points. You can’t escape the reality and the Knicks must also see that.”

According to the translation, Janis added the Knicks “cannot upset him much or otherwise, at the end of the season, he will say, “It’s not so cool here.”

NOT so Cool..didn't we just here someone else say that..

The same ppl who are hating on him, Ignored all this, and just knew KP would resigned..now they are putting up their middle finger at him..l

The internet and social media has definitely helped today's athlete get more exposure regardless of where they play, but location still plays a huge role and cities like LA and NY still lead that market by a long shot.

Think about it...D.Lillard would be a house hold name if he played on the Knicks and played the way he has been the last three years (especially last years playoffs).

Barrett has gotten just as much exposure, if not more, than Zion has so far...and has even been picked to win ROY by a few sports experts. You think you would have heard anything from him if HE would have ended up in New Orleans?

Not surprised that KP is getting buckets. We'll see if he is still playing with the same level of energy, after the All-Star break. We'll see if KP can stay healthy. We'll see if KP's brother starts telling KP that he isnt getting enough touches.

No denying KP's ability to impact a game. Too early to tell if the negatives about his time in NY, is in the past. Too early to tell if this trade will pay dividends for the Knicks.

We saw him start HOT before and then just his energy faded. (Bolded above)Now he is bigger. I really don't think he is going to sustain anything.
I don't want to see KP or any player get injured. But I feel a bit like KP slighted us fans. I see his point with ownership, but Phil is gone and what new management is doing is nice.
Let's see what Karma does regarding his play.

Glad to see he might be adhering to a more restrained social media discipline and just let his play talk. He got his money and a good situation.
Basically he really did not endear himself to fans in NY. It was the promise of his talent that we liked. I enjoyed watching him on the court and his putback dunks! Kid has great instincts for the ball. Part of me wants to see his fibula puncture his skin and pull the Mav's into giving us a top 3 lottery pick after a bad season when we have their pick.

It does not have to be KP. A Luka hamstring pull here, an ankle sprain there ...that can work too.

You really don’t wish anyone bad health. In that regard, it’s good to see KP playing basketball again. It must’ve been frustrating for him.

I did like the story he developed when we first got him. The unknown 4th pick who ends up challenging the #1 for the honor of the best young future star. He seemed like a good kid and so easy to root.

When all the info on his brother, on bad attitude, skipped meetings and not nice controversy came to light, things went south in a hurry. Even if having a talent like him is great in essence, we are in a better position right now.

KP and his brother seem to be a ticking timebomb with mad potential to burn the Mavs. Not only is the fear for a new injury real at his height and frame, but his attitude has been put into question so many times now and his brother seems so much in control of his career that it’s only a matter of time before new controversy details his career again.

Not saying there are not a lot of variables that go into Jersey sales, but if you think you are bigger than NY, just watch a middling all-star slide off the jersey charts when they act bigger than the team. KP should have gotten a bump by the trade to Dallas. He has simply fallen off the map. We can see what happens this year. But instead of being NY's franchise player, he is now Doncic's workhorse ("Doncic's Donkey" anyone?). I really don't think that 18 foot jump shot is valuable in today's NBA, but that 3pt shot was great.

We will see where he is after this year and whether he made NY relevant or whether NY made him relevant.

This is the Randle.

So you don't think this is more about him being injured for a year than traded from the Knicks?

Who knows? Probably a little bit of both.

Fact is if your not playing its hard to add to your fan base. KP was also seen as the savior "Unicorn" of the Knicks. Ussually saviors sell a lot of jerseys. Kid is going to have a big year with Luka. I am sure the band wagon fans will be making the jerseys roll off the shelves in Dallas.

Regardless, this just fits into the "bitter hope" category that KP is a bum/loser to make some feel better that the Knicks screwed things up, yet again.

There is nothing to hate about KP.
This is business project that failed.
Just move on to another one.
