I haven't heard anything about Gordon being available but any player can be had for the right price. And with Nikola Vucevic a free agent, it's possible the Magic are forced to shift their focus toward developing the young core they've recently drafted (Mo Bamba and Jonathan Isaac) who make Gordon a bit redundant. Should he in-fact be available, I think that we have the assets to facilitate a trade considering the Magic's lack of backcourt depth. If that is the case, we should look to take advantage of the situation.

Gordon is a swiss-army knife/intangibles type player, which we don't currently have on the roster. He doesn't need the ball to be effective and makes the type of energy plays that are infectious; raising the level of play for all players. He seems like such a great option as a cutter and shooter next to guys like Barrett and Knox, who at their best will be guys that are iso-scorers that pound the air out of the ball. On defense, I think he's the best "ying" to Knox's "yang" since he can cover either forward spot well while Knox seems destined to be a sieve- at least on man-defense. And Gordon is a ball-mover, which is crucial when it's not stuck in isolation play between the aforementioned.

I also hear that Gordon is a great lockerroom guy. At 23 years old, entering his age-24 season, he's the right type of veteran to add to our group because he adds stability to the roster, produces at a high-level but also has room to grow individially and with our youth.

Does Dennis Smith Jr and Damyean Dotson get a deal done for Aaron Gordon? We could take his salary into space, which would save a significant amount of money for the Magic who struggle with attendence. And as much as they'd be losing the box-office appeal of an Aaron Gordon, Dennis Smith Jr can replace much of that with his high-flying act. Steve Clifford did a wonderful job in developing Kemba Walker...maybe he can replicate the process with a similarly small, similarly explosive, similarly talented PG. Deal?

Not sure what you would have to give up for him, and I don't know why Orlando would give up on him for anything the Knicks can offer in a trade...but by acquiring Gordon, I think you would do to Knox what you did to Frank by collecting PGs. You will destroy his confidence.

Gordon was the #4 pick in the draft, and after 2 years, you might have considered him as a potential bust, outside of some great dunks, but Orlando let him develop, and the past 2 seasons he's emerged...improving his 3 pt shooting, and almost approaching 4APG.

Orlando has done with him what the Knicks are supposed to be doing with players like Knox, Frank, Mitch, etc....letting them experience growing pains on the way to reaching their potential.

Gordon will be entering his 6th season...why can't Knox have the luxury of developing for 5 years?

I see Knox as a PF, not sure where the Knicks think he will play down the road. I'm still trying to decide whether his D will hold up at SF, but with a little muscle, his length will allow him to compete at PF, and his speed will no longer be an issue.

Regardless of where he plays, when he steps on the floor for SL in a few days...HE WILL STILL BE 19. He will be starting his second season and still be younger than Iggy Braz, who, if you think Knox is a SF, will be competing against Kevin.

Time for Fizdale and the Knicks to let him develop and to put him in situations where he can succeed, not bring in competing players before you even know what kind of player your guy will be.

The best way is let them develop hope they suck until they sign a 5 year deal worth 40 million and they become superstars.
