Plan A - Knicks will try to sign KD and Kyrie as a package

(Fill out roster with mostly vet mins)

Plan B - Knicks try to sign Kawhi (nuff said - this would be great!)
(figure out roster after jumping up and down for several hours)

Plan C - I know these estimates are probably off, but trying to make a point about roster balance

Try to sign the following with available room...

D.Russell at 22-24m (assuming KD and Kyrie to Nets)
J.Randle at 22-24m
P.Bev at 12m
Vonleh at 9m

If room - absorb PJ Tucker (at 8.4m) as Rockets trying to unload players to go after J.Butler

Nice mix of defensive vets and 2 up and coming players that would fit with the youth timelines
Someone gets injured we have depth, youth and retain our assets (players more easily moveable, draft picks still there)

Of course Plan B with Kawhi would be great - but really think something like Plan C would be much better for our team then Plan A.

Would love to hear if anyone else likes Plan C and if the salary estimates are way off - please tell me what you think these guys would cost...

I would swap Plan A and B, but otherwise spot on I think. DLo+Randle is a good use of our cap...we keep DLo long-term, sign Randle to a 3yr with team option on third. That way we have a max slot for Giannis in 2021.

I dont think anything with Kyrie makes sense. IF they both came, Irving would be alone and frustrated the first year. Then the 2nd, who knows he might just flake out again.

I hope he goes to the Nets.

Kawhii and then some of the C plan makes the most sense. I just have doubts that he will come here. NY is not mentioned at all with him...likely going to LA or staying put...i say Clippers.

Plan C might be the most sensible. DLo can play in NY - would be great with RJ. I dont see a need for Beverly. TUcker and Randle make a lot of sense too. Randle is a good scorer and Tuker can defend all. NY needs front court depth in a bad way now.

Are we to assume that Kyrie is completely pig headed and learned nothing over the his experiences?
That he knowingly signs with Knicks and we stay with a young core, is this not reasonable to assume its discussed between player and coach BEFORE he signs?
Naturally, what he says and what he does are not always consistent.
