Knicks are so low even with yoot its a better future than in decline with Melo.
Nets so bad nobody noticed even when they improved. They might have room to sign some talent and be even better.
Knox, Smith, Barrett and Mitch are solid blue chip pedigree. Trier, Braz, and Frank might be nice pieces. We have cap space, we have all our picks and 2 from Dallas. We have opportunity!!

Knicks and Nets have not been rivals for years because neither has played important games. If Nets get Irving and Durant good for them. Hope they do well, and ironic if knicks build thru youth vs the starphuch! Eventually knicks will make some trades/FA's and we have a nice long rivalry. One beating the snot out the other is not fun. Knicks destroying nets is not fun. Good games with meaning is fun. Must see!!!

Think how much fun it will be when Knicks beat Nets in the eastern conf finals!

I never really thought he was an evil villain. Maybe a piss poor leader and bad teammate who is going to get his f’ing ars booed the next time he plays in Boston... but not a complete 100% douchebag who could be hated around the league.

Maybe that makes more sense in my head than it does to every one else. Lol

Maybe that’s why he had trouble in Boston. They were all a bunch of round earthers that chose not to do the research. What a bunch of D-Nozzles.

I hate to rain on your parade, but i figured if we had blue chip youth we would have had enough to trade for AD..Obviously we dont know what Barret will do, but he seems like a solid player coming in

In one sentence you said the knicks shouldn't starpuch, and your very next words are.. "they will eventually make trades..well who will they be trading for. role players or STARS-Phuchs.

And as far as FA, If your not good, your not attractive, that's why the NETS seem to be getting more attn

Knicks finally have opportunity which is great. Nets have a smart front office and seems like players want to go there. I don't ever see a rivalry though because ultimately the Nets are still basically a small market team operating in a small corner of the Knicks giant market. They were a good, fun team last year with the worst attendance in the league. Adding Kyrie and/or KD probably pulls a small percentage of bandwagon fans in NY, but still a small chunk in the grand scheme of things. Knicks are competing in a different world as the Nets. When you think about top tier NBA franchises, you think of Knicks, Lakers, Bulls, Sixers, Celtics, Warriors and maybe a couple others. Those are the teams the media and league really focus on. Nothing the Nets do will ever break them into that category or shift the focus away from any of the top tier franchises.

The Knicks were the ones who passed on Davis (Thank God). We know how you don't value draft picks/youth but it would of been a terrible trade for us just like all those types of trades we have done in the past. Trading all of our assets for a great but very injury prone player wouldn't help us put in free agency because they would of had no players to surround them with.

NY has good youth. RJ may make it great. RJ, DSj, Mitch, Knox, Trier, Iggy, Frank, Dotson is a good young core who will grow together and if they put the work in, they should be good together. How good? To be Determined.

An influx of KD, EVEN INJURED this year, will help alot! He can be a huge confidence builder for Knox especially but all the younger guys. That will speed up their development.

Kawhii would have the same effect.

I still KD wants the KNicks. The NETS are 2nd city. IMO, there is no way he goes there.

I keep wondering myself, how can KD possibly want to go to BK? And why would Kleiman allow it? He's so focused on his brand and what people think of him. Any success in NY does more for him than anything he can do with BK. And joining Kyrie in BK would lend to the narrative that he was influenced and followed Kyrie there. I thought the focus for KD was to become his own man and build his own NBA identity. NY is literally there for the taking. Any success there puts him on a different level. While playing in BK would mean being a villain in his own city. It literally would make no sense, other than him just wanting to play with Kyrie no matter what the scenario.

Well said!

You are so right - KD was destroyed for going to an already great team like GS. If he "follows" Kyrie, what then? HE will have lost most of the NYC fans. Winning in Brooklyn would mean zilch for his BRAND. Winning in NY, Hell - Getting the KNICKS back into contention - would make his BRAND go boom!

I would think the Nets are a smoke screen even for Kyrie - but the Nets GM is good and their success has made them more attractive. I just so do not get why BK would dump DLo for Kyrie and risk their team chemistry? Adding Harris and other front court help would be far better for the team then exchanging Kyrie for DLo - even if KD comes in 2020/21
