If we can trade back, and still have RJ and additional assets, so be it. Otherwise, we keep the pick

I feel like we have 3 threads covering the same topic....but **** it. How about a 4 team trade involving us, the Heat, Bulls and Wolves?

NYK Trades: Dennis Smith Jr ($4.4 million)
NYK Recieves: Hassan Whiteside ($27 million) and the 7th pick

MIN Trades: Jeff Teague ($19 million) and the 11th pick
MIN Recieves: Dennis Smith Jr and a $14.6 million trade exception

CHI Trades: Cristiano Felicio ($8 million)
CHI Recieves: Jeff Teague ($19 million) and the 11th pick

MIA Trades: Hassan Whiteside ($27 million)
MIA Recieves: Cris Felicio

The deal saves the Heat and Wolves luxury tax money, which both teams have been averse to paying; while the Bulls are able to free up long-term money owed to Felicio in exchange for a veteran floor general they haven't had in nearly a decade.

an additional top 10 pick would be smart esp if they know they are only getting 1 FA this summer.

You target Mahimi and 9 + Biyombo and 12

Package 9+12+DSJ and see where you end up.

Or draft whichever 2 drop

I don't think there is anyway that White slips past 6, if the draft order holds. The Cavs and Suns desperately need a combo guard and White is the prototype of one. At 7, I target Sekou Doumbouya who seems like a high-reward/high-risk prospect. He seems so versatile and such an athlete that I think he can play in any system, which is appealing considering how in flux our roster is in.

But if Ja Morant fall's to us and Jarrett Culver is still on the board, I'm not sure how we don't take him. The two seem like such a great backcourt in the making. They are so versatile, can defend their position well and will be able to space the floor effectively.

I don't think we're taking on enough money for opposing teams to justify giving up a lottery pick. It might not be an especially talented draft but these picks are still valuable, especially when factoring in the opportunity cost involved. You're not trading them in a vacuum and have to consider how the Stepien Rule could impact future moves you make when you move a pick.

How can you put DSJ in a trade for Garland..it's silly

DSJ- suspect defender, unreliable perimeter shooter, but can penetrate and finish around the rim

Garlan-Suspect defender, lights out shooter, but doesn't really penetrate and can't finish around the rim

Its like fixing a leak only to see the water coming out of somewhere else
