I actually like Ball a lot but I wouldn’t do it. If his ceiling is where he is now then he’s a nice player but RJ is definitely ahead. After pick 3, this draft is sketchy. I say no.

Agree

RJ/Morant represent the higher upside a team like us needs.

Ball shoots 40% from FT, don't think you can get far in the playoffs with that.

I agree about not trading that for Ball - but I think broadly that Ball could eventually be a player like Rondo - and he has had an incredibly productive career with poor shooting.

I'd like to see if I could trade up to #1.

I mean, if you are NO, would you take #3, 2 Dallas #1's and some combination of Frank, DSjr, Trier, Dotson or Knox (not all of them, but 2/3)?

I know I would. I'd be in a position with the Lakers picks to have a huge asset pool to either draft with or trade from.

I thought about the same thing. No one talks about trading up. But Zion is the superstar they need to stay relevant in today’s nba market to attract free agents. Basically we will have to mortgage our future like the lakers did. And even with Zion, there’s no clear championship window. The lakers know they have at least a 3 year window with AD and Lebron, to win a chip. Combined with GS slipping away, they have a real chance. With around 30 mil to offer a free agent....that’s nice. Injuries is their only Achilles....no pun intended. But where does that leave these othe LA bound free agents like boogie? I know he looked like a shell of himself....but that also means he’s willing to take a discount contract to come to broadway. He’s not done and he will be even better next season. It takes time to come back to form....I think he’s ready and motivated.

Assumption is there is a strong desire for Barrett t play with Zion?
True they were roomies but its not like there was on court magic with them, and Barrett is in NY with a great opportunity. He can make new best friends.

Reality is Ball is a high price to swap picks.

No way the pelicans trade the 1st, Zion is a money making machine for that franchise, if he doesn't go there, no one is watching that franchise for years

Lebron is 34-35 with zero depth. If an injury occurs can AD and another carry them to the finals in the west with GS diminished?

They are lucky they held on to Kuzma. He will be big for them during those times LeBron or AD need time. I’m sure they will get decent bench help considering they are the favorites to come out of the West.

Zion is going to love those passes from Ball. NOLA is going to be good this year.

NOLA is more likely to approach Memphis than NY for Barrett.

Just sayin'.

No if they wanted Barrett they should have traded AD to us.
