At the beginning of the interview (via phone ) Francesa sounded like (as a Knicks fan) he was interested in signing KD …..The interview with Dr. O'Brien seemed to change Francesa's mind (at least a little ) . This doctor said he would not be eager to sign KD . Said with the specific injury KD has he stands a notable chance of hurting his other achilles history shows (per this DR. )Dr. said # 1 thing CAN NOT GIVE HIM A LONG CONTRACT...…..CAN NOT ! Me as a 50 year Knicks fan on signing KD ……….I'll PASS !!!!!

It’s a scary injury with a horrible recovery rate. I don’t think they should sign him.

Tore my left at 35.....tore my right at 39

We both use our 1st step as a go to move for slashing or pull up jumpers. But KD is a different athlete and like me he tore his at the peak of his physical health. He will come back strong....if he injures the other side, then that's a different story. But I would sign him as a last resort. On a discount rate based on performance.

Here is the thing with KD - I really believe he is a different kind of athlete. He probably has several good years left in him.

The more I think about his injury, the more I do think we should hold off signing him, and then if we do because we strike out elsewhere- please to god get the last year to be a team option.

But I worry this has Noah written all over it. This has Amar'e written all over it. This has McDyess written all over it.

We'll be getting our star player, but too late, after they put too many miles on their body, and injuries limited their ability to perform.

I guess I see KD continuing to flourish as an outside shooter. I don't know about his mobility on the defensive end, but he is a great shooter and there is no reason he can't continue to be one. But he isn't going to be averaging 30 in play off games. Maybe 10-15 as a role player.

I think KD has a better than 50% chance to come back and be a good player. He may have to adjust his game a bit. His size and length do not change, his quickness and eleveation will. At 7 foot and long, elevation is a less critical. Quickness lessens with age, so that too is expected. Can he adapt his game to still be effective at a high level?

Yes.

THe issue with KD is can you take paying him 150M for 3 years? I think NY will do it. It fits perfect to Dolan's plan to give NY fans hope and show that he is trying.

THe best move is still Kawhii. Every team in the league that can will be calling. It will not be Toronto, he would have said so last night when asked. I think its LA or NY. In LA he competes with Lebraon, but Leonard does not seem like that will bother him at all. He is a such a calm and collected dude. I think that means he can handle NY too.

Its a mystery to all!! THe issue really is how this great FA class has been so complicated by 2 major injuries!! The 2nd tier of FA's are going to make big $$$ now.

Foe me its Kawhii or bust. Sign Kawhii and whoever he wants. If no Kawhii, save your money and accumulate young players.

A Surgeon tells ya’ll don’t sign him because he’s a significant injury risk and pushing in his 30’s....... and some of ya’ll are like . “Nah, Nah still sign him”..... then when he gets injured ya’ll will be like damn Knicks suck...... we should be thanking the basketball gods this happened prior to giving him money.
