Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

This is like the KP draft. We fall to 4 and get the 2nd best player in the draft. Now we fall to 3 and we might get the 2nd best player in the draft. Not bad.

Ja Morant is like a better Westbrook the way he carved his competition. He's a good consolation prize I'd be ok with.

Isn’t the fact that he played in an inferior league his biggest question mark? How about the turnovers? Thought those were quite assumed

It is an inferior league, but he still willed his team to the touranment. In 33 games this past season, he had 10+ assist games 19 times. Turnovers....yes a bit concerning but only because he's not playing with NBA teammates with better skill sets.
FYI...Curry averages 3 TOs for his career. Literally no one uses that as a barometer for him because he does so many other things great.

You are kinda throwing around weight and shooting and then making light of everything else Morant

Cartman I respect a lot of your opinions and posts BUT lets give the kid a chance if we do indeed draft him. I mean he certainly not a bum, kid was considered the top pick not long ago. You are certainly correct there are concerns but thats the case with any prospect. He could very well be the best player out of the draft down the road

Weight has killed many NBA careers, lack of shooting in today's NBA...same thing. In today's possession heavy NBA, why would the learning process on turnovers end careers. Shooting is the hardest thing to improve...took years for someone like Lebron. How would it be any easier for Barrett?

There is no way Zion would be so stupid. He seems like a smart and humble enough kid as is. He’s a Pelican. Get over it.

I like Barrett. Scoring machine, but also a good passer, strong handle to the rim, great in transition. Outside shot needs work, but most rookies do.

https://www.wavy.com/sports/local-sports/barrett-3s-lead-no-2-duke-past-no-3-virginia-81-71/1768843357

Barrett hit his first five tries from 3-point range for the Blue Devils (21-2, 9-1 Atlantic Coast Conference). His fifth one gave them a 29-15 lead after less than 12 minutes of play.

I watched this game live. Somebody who can't shoot, doesn't get that lucky and hit 5 straight 3's. He clearly has a jumper, so lets stop that rumor.

He clearly has a take over mentality. And thats very difficult when you are playing with the #1 player in the country. In fact, I've watched games where Zion deferred to RJ down the stretch a little too much. That told me a lot about RJ. He has that it you can't teach.

What he's lacking is something you can teach, which is consistency. But what I like most is that he's not afraid of the moment. He's not intimidated by other star players. And before Zion came on the scene, he held the #1 college player position for a long time early in the season.

I can clearly see RJ and Ja having a similar impact on the NBA, over the course of their career. And I said this during the college season. I said too much attention is on Zion, but what if RJ is the better player. It all depends on how great he wants to be.

RJ is the best all around player in college. He can play a Draymon Green roll, as a tripple double threat. And he's a two way player.

Thanks, helps remind us that the 3rd pick still can do wonders for the Knicks. As I mentioned in the draft thread, RJ played a lot better, after Zion got hurt and was out for a while. Well enough to make some people remember why he was projected to go 1st for a while. We should look at those games as an indicator of what we might see in the league, than with a unique player like Zion.

Im hoping to see a DSjr/Barrett backcourt, see if it can work. Save on cap room, big time.
They both need to shoot better, but they also have the same skill set as far as taking it to the rim, above the rim skills, passing ability, elite athleticism. Both can bring up the ball, set up the offense.

It would bring Fizdale closer to the type system he wants to run. Dont know if it would work, but I sure would like to find out. They both play with a chip on their shoulder, Mitch too. Knox is getting there.

He definitely has the stroke, just needs to get a bit more consistent and that will come.

There is no need to tout one over the other, we are picking one of Ja or RJ, no questions. Silly to want a certain guy when the Knicks dont control that... unless you're willing to part with assets just to move up one spot.

Also Ja Morant never seems particularly enthused about playing for the Knicks when asked.

I don't think it's set in stone that the Griz take Ja Morant- Conley has 2 more years at $30mil plus and the owner has tended to want to win now (held onto Gasol and Conley longer than they should have)- RJ does make a lot of sense for them.

Ja's jumper is also suspect in terms of accuracy and form. Barrett also has question marks other than shooting. His handle and decision making make it hard to determine if he can be a primary
Offensive option. I'm cool with everyone not named Reddish at this point.

No.

At least Beal can shoot

his contract is bananas , but i would trade for him over AD if kyrie and kD are on board..it makes the most sense, and balances the roster with a real SG, a real pg, and a bona fide sf/pf..it also help that all three are good ball handlers.
