Other than NBA gifting Nola Zion for less than half the % chance, the f'in Lakers getting 4 is an atrocity and frankly embarrassing for the NBA.

After the botched trade last year, the Knicks immediately lost any competing power for putting together a package for AD surrounding pick 3 because LA got pick 4. I honestly think if they got pick 10 and Knicks had 3, maybe (slim maybe) AD could still be a possibility for NY.

But not now, Griffin can't be that stupid comparing Knicks to Lakers ammo. And for anyone thinking AD could force his way here, why would AD say no to LA?

Sorry, I am not a Barrett fan and would almost prefer seeing if Atl wants 3 for 8 and 10.

The Knicks have operated as a functional, smart franchise recently. Getting into a bidding war with Boston for AD could get really ugly. If the celts get AD Kyrie probably stays. If that doesn't impact KD's decision then I think the Knicks just use the cap space on another free agent but if it does the KNicks could give up too much in a bidding war. I think the forum is almost over the Melo trade. A similar trade for AD would be rough.

The Knicks have operated as a functional, smart franchise recently. Getting into a bidding war with Boston for AD could get really ugly. If the celts get AD Kyrie probably stays. If that doesn't impact KD's decision then I think the Knicks just use the cap space on another free agent but if it does the KNicks could give up too much in a bidding war. I think the forum is almost over the Melo trade. A similar trade for AD would be rough.
Agreed. It would cost much much more than the Melo trade too. I mean technically we only gave up one first along with gallo,chandler,felton,Mozgov. I didnt like the trade but it wasnt a terrible loss. For AD they want the 2019 first Barrett/Morant,Knox,Frank,Mitch, and probably 3-4 more firsts.

The front office had a best case scenario of Zion, Durant and Kyrie.
Already one of those 3 is outta the window.

After Zion and Morant, the rest of this draft isn't that strong IMO. Rest of them aren't locks to be all-stars.

There was a 14% chance of getting Zion. The worst case scenario was Dallas moving up and pushing the traded picks back to 22-24 and the Knicks falling to the fifth pick (47.9% odds). Barrett was the number one prospect coming out of high school. He would be a very good pick at 3in my opinion.

Agreed...If we do land KD and Kyrie by some miracle, RJ is actually a good fit. KD and Kyrie are great shooters (esp Durant) and RJ is relentless going to the rack...I never believed the NBA would allow Zion to come to the Knicks because everyone would scream the fix was in...I was just hoping we got top 3 and we did.

I felt bad for the kid. He's only 18, very composed, and doing his best in the interview to not sound devastated. Unless AD calls him up and says they'll dominate together, he's headed for purgatory
