Since Artest is having problems with Indy, what kind of trade scenario is possible with the Knicks? How about Tim Thomas for Ron Ron?

it may be TT, KT, Mohammed, draft picks, or if not that, Marbury, Ariza, Crawford, or Starbury. The latter won't happen, but i also doubt Larry Bird would trade us Artest unless he ruins the team morale

TT for Artest doesn't have a chance...Artest is better & makes alot less money...the only package the Knicks could offer that might interest Indiana imho is something like Crawford & Sweetney.

Yep. There wouldn't be a point to that. Artest is amazing but it would be easier to add players with Marbury on the team than with Artest on the team.

Indiana trades: SF Ron Artest (18.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.7 apg in 37.2 minutes)
Indiana receives: C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.9 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -7.2 ppg, +3.0 rpg, and -1.8 apg.
New York trades: C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.9 minutes)
New York receives: SF Ron Artest (18.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.7 apg in 73 games)
Change in team outlook: +7.2 ppg, -3.0 rpg, and +1.8 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Indiana and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Indiana and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

When you propose a trade you have to look at the numbers, this one works
with just the numbers. I know there are other factors, but what it comes down to is the numbers. KT gives Indy an inside presence to work with O'Neal.

Sounds like Ron ROn really goes around the twist.

Isiah Knows just how crazy this man is. He might not want him.

Dolan still has a desire for character people, and in NYC he might melt even more.

If Reggie dunked, and Ron Ron was right in the membrane, Indy might be the champs.

Id say despite his obvious talent, I'd pass. Unless he is crazy enough to pretend this nutty-ness to get traded, and has Isiah love. But even Isiah could not control him!

His name IS Guns N Ewing. It's either a reference to Guns N Roses or he likes guns and Ewing. Watch out Artest!

Maybe Indy can throw in a 2nd rd pick just to even things out? I think Tim would make a good fit in Indy while Ron Ron would be right at home in a Knicks uniform playing SF.

How about Tim Thomas, Trevor Ariza, $3 mil cash for Ron Artest and Austin Croshere's awful contract ($9 mil per year for 3 years). They might insist on Sweetney being included, though.

New York trades:

SF Tim Thomas (14.7 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.6 minutes)
C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.9 minutes)
PG Moochie Norris (3.5 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.8 apg in 12.8 minutes)

New York receives:

PF Austin Croshere (5.0 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 0.7 apg in 13.7 minutes)
SF Ron Artest (18.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.7 apg in 37.2 minutes)
C Scot Pollard (1.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.2 apg in 11.1 minutes)

Change in team outlook: -4.3 ppg, -2.9 rpg, and -1.0 apg.

Indiana trades:

PF Austin Croshere (5.0 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 0.7 apg in 13.7 minutes)
SF Ron Artest (18.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.7 apg in 37.2 minutes)
C Scot Pollard (1.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.2 apg in 11.1 minutes)

Indiana receives:

SF Tim Thomas (14.7 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 66 games)
C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 80 games)
PG Moochie Norris (3.5 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.8 apg in 66 games)

Change in team outlook: +4.3 ppg, +2.9 rpg, and +1.0 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

This works well for both teams, if Isiah and Bird can get along long enough to do it.

V Baker/ N Muhammed/ S Pollard
M Sweetney/ J Williams/
R Artest/ A Croshere/ T Ariza
A Houston/ J Crawford
S Marbury/ P Hardaway/ J Brewer

And as usual S Anderson can sit on IR.

The main problem I have with that scenario is the whole Bird/Thomas thing. They'll never speak cordially!

Also, it's HERESY to start Baker over Nazr. HERESY. I can't believe the ridiculous amount of of Nazr hating. He's good!!!!

i just don't see them trading Artest unless they're getting back a young, stud player or an established veteran star...Tim Thomas & Kurt Thomas aren't in that league...these guys are 3rd & 4th option type players on any decent team...to trade a guy like Artest, you need to get back equal value in terms of talent imho...you can't trade him to get cap relief & take back lesser talent.
