Coming FA class includes
Durant, Kawhi, Butler, Kyrie, Klay, Vucevic, B-Lopez. I have excluded all those players that I feel wouldn't fit well on our team for various reasons or just have attitude or talent issues.

Let's assume for the moment that we do get Zion/Morant and whoever we get is THAT player who will be showing out for at least a decade, plus elite FAs actually want to come here, not yet proven.

Here are the combination options with KD:
1. Klay, this would be one of the best possible scenario. What the team desperately needs... shooting. In these 2 players, you get clutch shooters, one of whom scores 43 points of 4 dribbles..unheard of. This combination also gives you 2 players who are good on D, one of them Klay taking pride in total game defense and 2 players who do not need to bring up the ball to be effective. A PG who can pass the ball to them in the right spots...that's all they really need to be effective. Not to mention, they already have significant playing experience with each other. Lineup: Morant, Klay, KD, Knox, Mitch, a bit undersized in the front but a dynamo on offensive shooting every game with everyone except Mitch having capacity to get hot any second.

2. Kawhi, this is a great combo, but I am a little skeptical that Kawhi is one of those players that doesn't talk much and is not an affable player (remember that conference with that awkward laugh??), man the NY media would make fun of his personality a lot. Kawhi's defense and overall 2 way play is probably at par with Klay's if not better and he does have that clutch mentality on offense and defense. But with alpha dog mentality comes a clash with another alpha dog...KD. Although KD and Kawhi are both not "barking" individuals like Draymond, their cool calm composure is similar to Knox but a clear contrast to Zion...if the Knicks hit the trifecta, these 2 FAs + Zion and have Knox in the mix, from a game winning shot players type of mentality...there would be enough on the roster vs if Klay was on.

3. Kyrie: Not sure if this is a good mix, Kyrie dominates the ball and KD's success with the ball movement means that ball movement may go down. Kyrie + KD + Knox + Zion + Mitch is not as good of a combo as Frank + Klay + KD + Zion/Knox + Mitch.

4. Vucevic: Clearly on a bad team as well but dude does have Kevin Love like numbers. Could he fit the mold of Draymond Green for Warriors without the lip? Probably. That would be a Knicks best fit because in the front court we are going to lose Kanter, we won't have KP, DJ. So Vucevic with Mitch backing him up and Zion Knox next to Vucevic, gives us a great complimentary lineup of Frank, KD, Knox, Zion, Vucevic...that would still be "KD's team" and cause hell on O and D.

5. Klay+ B=Ropez...can one dream? B-Ropez signs a 1 yr deal with Knicks for whatever's left in cap space. Frank, Klay, KD, Zion/Knox, B-Ropez/Mitch....3 point shooting galore.

Combination options with Kawhi:
1. Klay, this does not work...they'd essentially be undersized and one of Knox / Zion would be relegated to bench...mismatch not in our favor every game.

2. Kyrie: this would work well, one player ready to cover the other's defensive deficiencies and 2 alpha dogs ready to hit game winning shots. Kyrie being the verbal, Kawhi would be ok him taking the media spotlight. Kyrie, Kawhi, Knox, Zion, Mitch is still a hell of a lineup.

3. Vucevic: this would work great too. A lineup of Morant, Kawhi, Knox, Noah, Vucevic would still have potential

Combination options with Kyrie:
1. Klay, paired with Kyrie could become the splash brothers of the east. and a lineup of Kyrie, Klay, Knox, Zion, Mitch would give East hell.

2. Vucevic: this would work ok. A lineup of Kyrie, SG we draft, Knox, Noah, Vucevic would still have potential but not much

Combinations with Klay:
1. Vucevic: Another great fit. Frank, Klay, Knox, Zion, Vucevic would be the underrated lineup of the league kinda like Denver, but with all the passing in that lineup, it could be like re-inventing Warriors in the East.

My vote...
1a Frank, Klay, KD, Zion/Knox, B-Ropez/Mitch (KD's team stacked)
1b Frank, KD, Knox, Zion, Vucevic (KD's team)
1c Frank, Klay, Knox, Zion, Vucevic (no one's team but great chemistry...maybe Knox's team down the line)
2a Kyrie Kawhi Knox, Zion, Mitch (Kyrie's team)
2b Frank Kawhi KD Knox/Zion Mitch (KD's team a little less balanced but well defended at perimeter)

Its gonna be a fun summer for sure. Some negative people are saying its gonna be 2010 all over again but I dont believe that. We have a top pick and this free agents class has ties to NY area

Its about not getting in panic mode if we will not get any of top FA or just one.
Just continue building. No Stat type moves. And we will be OK.

Agreed. Personally I think we will win this offseason unlike 2010. I just feel we are due

How about Kemba, Kawhi, Zion, Knox, Mitch
Vonleh, DSJ, Kornet, Frankie Boy.
DSJ would be pissed but it’s a nice start.

With that said.... that’s quite the ball hogging line-up!

While KD is tantalizing he will be 31 at the start of next season

Kyrie, Kawhi, AD fit better age wise and have a better chance of sustained success

I don’t see how we have a shot at AD even if we can offer the numero uno pick. What the Lakers are apparently offering destroys anything we can. We lost our chance when NOLA apparently said they had no interest in KP.

I agree I would rather choose Kawhi because of the age factor. KD is going to break down sooner or later. He does not exactly have a LeBron-esque body.

First...I want KD. Yes he is 31 but I think his game will stay on the top for another 5 years.

The 2nd max I am torn between Kyrie and Kawhi. I really want Kawhi but I don't think it will happen. Kyrie is a very good 2nd max guy. Plus, Kawhi and Zion plays the same position.

I want Zion for the lottery. Please basketball gods, make it so.

That's KD and Zion at the forwards. Kyrie at the PG. Too many ball dominant players. We need Frank in there at the other guard. At the center spot I want Mitchell Robinson to start.

The bench will be Knox, DSJr, Trier, Dotson, Vonleh

I would actually try to flip DSJr into a 1st round pick.

Plus young talent on rookie contracts.

KD with Kawhi would work, but KD with Kyrie might be a clash. Kyrie might not let go of MVP aspirations as easily as Steph did.
