Heh, reminds of a Jameer Nelson's quote in SLAM this month. "Everybody has this thing about my height. I'm 5-11 with my shoes off, but 6 feet with them on. You play with your shoes on, don't you?"

Yeah Jameer, but the thing is... EVERYONE ELSE ALSO PLAYS WITH THEIR SHOES ON TOO.

And yeah, I bet Howard ALSO wears socks. (I can predict the retort: "oh yeah, Marbury could gain another 1/4" if he wore 2 pairs of socks at the same time!"

Dwight Howard grew 1/4" in height in the last few months. His arms probably got a touch longer too, likely increasing his wingspan by another 1/2"... and I know how people in this forum are about wingspan. :)

to have a guy like dwight howard in your conference is scary. to have a guy like dwight howard still growing is scarier. remember david robinson was 6-7 at his age and ended up 7-1. this guy has the same athletism as david but much more skill. he now stands at 6-11 245. the doctors think he will be 7-0-7-1. We have no one remotely close to that with his skills

We'll see. They were saying the exact same things about Kwame Brown and Tyson Chandler. It's great to have a young big guy to get excited about, but . . . You know the rest.
