For

Zach Randolph

Ben Mac

Salary dump and tank, sac gets Hardaway. I love thjr’s game but we need cap space and we are not winning this year anyway let’s pull for the number 1 . he would be a real weapon for sac town who has a hard time attracting free agents.

Next year

KP, Robinson
Durant, Vonleh
Knox,Dotson
Zion, Zo
?, frank

Kp
Durant
Knox
Zion

I don't think Sac is doing that deal. They have Buddy Heid and while they are playing better this year, I doubt they are trying to go all in on a playoff push. This deal would help the tank and would allow more PT for Frank and Dotson. I just don't think Sac would bite. Maybe they would if they somehow like Hardaway's game, but HArdaway has been really inconsistent this year.

Makes some sense. The Kings have wanted a 3 for sometime and Hezonja might be able to masquerade as a useful one. They also had interest in Zach Lavine, so I don't see how THJr wouldn't appeal to them. I think Courtney Lee might be a tougher sell for them but he could be offloaded in a different deal. I could see the Pelicans needing Lee and they have expirers we could use (e.g. Wesley Johnson and Ian Clark). Maybe they could be roped into the deal, so that it saves the Kings some money but still makes them more competitive....

....I wonder if Vlade Divac still even has the autonomy to make decisions with the Kings though. I know he had issues with Dave Joeger earlier in the year and with them now competitive, ownership might have sided with Joeger.

...then again, why would the Kings need Hardaway Jr.? I think Buddy Hield and Bogan Bogdanovic are as good as he is but are still on their rookie contracts. Do you think they'd want him at the 3 spot? Because I don't think he holds as much value there when you consider what playoff teams have in the West at the 3 (e.g. LeBron, Durant, George, Harden (?), etc.).

Why would you trade Vonleh? This guy is a keeper. No way do I trade him.

fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

I think he would bring some vet leadership on a very young Kings team, he can play the 3 and 2 . He can push the tempo... for us it just helps the tank and opens up cap space... the kings have such a hard time attracting free agents they need trades like this to improve.

I agree that the Kings need to improve but don't see them adding long-term money for monies-sake. He is very redundant with Hield and Bogdanovic in the fold, which would relegate him playing the 3-spot exclusively. I don't see him being nearly as good if that's the case, in large part due to the depth of starpower at the position in the Western Conference. For the money they'd commit to Hardaway over the next 2.5 seasons, they could just as easily flip those contracts to get a DeMarre Carroll from the Nets.

As a side, I think we royally screwed up not pushing a Hardaway Jr for Dwight Howard trade earlier in the offseason. For all of Hardaway's faults, he is clearly a more valuable player than either Timofey Mozgov or Bismack Biyombo who the Hornets acquired at the same pricetag. That move would have been doubly beneficial for us because the move would have forced the Nets to eat the Mozgov contract and handicapped whatever aspirations they had for 2019 free agents.
