Anyone at the end of the draft having issues with the cap/luxury tax? Would we take on a contract for next year to get a late #1?

A reason to have the draft after FA is that if we strike out on bigs names, and don't want 2nd and 3rd tier FAs available this year, we can take on a contract expiring after next year, knowing we won't be missing on a top tier FA.

OKC has been offering the 21 to take on one of their contracts, the problem is I think they are all multiple years. Roberson is the cheapest at 10 million per year though

Looks like Roberson is only next year. Ferguson is less, for 3 years, but there is a team option after 2019/20

If we could pick up Terrance Ferguson and get rewarded with a pick - why not? He's young, talented, athletic and not overly costly. We are likely to need another year with our young guys anyway...


Not going to argue with this, but I expect OKC wants to dump someone with a more odious contract. Ferguson is only $2.5M next year, and they can decline his option the next year.

Don't know how they feel about Grant and Schroder, but they both have 2 yrs left at 9M & 15M respectively.

It seems like the Knicks aren’t interested in taking back a contract that compromise their cap space. They will more likely buy a 2nd rounder

On NBA Network They are interviewing Celtics fans and those fans just keep repeating " #1 thing is we don't want Kyrie back" . Not so sure I want him either !

Nassir Little is going to make someone happy this late. Maybe too much of a project for the lottery, but his physical tools are top notch.

Has talent but I’m hearing that There are major injury concerns with his frame which is scaring teams off

Feels good to have a non-controversial draft for a change. Have to give the nod to Phoenix tonight for the worst decision-making. Started day with TJ Warren, #6 pick and strong need to draft a PG. Dumped TJ and #32 pick for cash, as they said they are trying to clear cap space for free agency. Then traded #6 for #11 and Dario Saric (who plays no D). At #11, they selected a late 1st/early 2nd round pick in Cameron Johnson who's a great shooter but can't do much else. Then traded a future 1st rounder to Celts for Baynes and #24 (drafted Ty Jerome). So they lost pick value, gained and then gave away much of their gained cap space, and lost a future 1st while passing on a top 5 rated PG in Coby White. Let's remember the name Jeff Bowers so when he applies for the Knicks job in the future - we protest if necessary...

How come Taco Falls hasnt been picked? He gave zion problems in the paint.

Not much. Ive seen a couple article the last couple days with his name but didnt read much about him.
