I think delk and moochie are pretty much a wash as far as their stats go but moochie will make you rip your hair out with his bone headed plays.

If like you said the Hawks may want to wait to see if Sweetney pans out then they would only want him if he does which would make me want to see him stay with the Knicks. He still has 3 years on his contract and the Knicks could better use their time and money IMO to improve at the center position.

you would pass up on a chance to get Al Harrington (for argument's sake) just because you think Sweetney might turn into a solid role player for the next 7 or more years for the Knicks? i'm having a hard time understanding that line of logic, but whatever...this was just for discussion since nothing else was going on lately.
Are you completely convinced that Al Harrington has more potential than Sweetney? Sweetney has a very powerful body and a bigger wing span. I could see Sweetney being a better rebounder and low-poster defender. He also has great footwork; so he may develop a better low-post game than Al Harrington. I don't think he'll ever be as quick as Harrington, though.

there's no way i can be completely convinced that Harrington has more upside than Sweetney, just like you can't be completely sure that Sweetney has more upside than Harrington...that's why these trades are based on some risk, luck & what fits your team's needs better...i DO think that Isiah wouldn't bat an eyelash to pull of a trade like this if it were available to him, because Harrington fits his vision perfectly of what he wants to turn this team into...an uptempo, young, athletic & versatile team that can get up & down the court & create matchup problems for other teams.

if you're asking me who i think is a better player right now, the obvious answer is Al Harrington...& i do think that Harrington still has more upside to grow in his offensive game, & he's already a very solid defender...Mike Sweetney still needs alot of work on both aspects of his game right now...he's a good rebounder & is a good hustle player, but if he's to make the transition to becoming a low post option on the offense, he'll have to show alot more than he did last year...i think Harrington has already proven that he's got that game in him, all he needs is to be put on a team that can exploit his talents...i think he would fit in PERFECTLY on a team w/Marbury, Crawford & TT, because they can all excell in the open floor & Harrington's defense would be valuable as well on a defensively challenged team like we have right now.

Anyone give the slightest thought to this possibility - maybe Al Harrington's never going to be more than he is now? His stats for the past 3 years are almost exactly the same - no improvement. He's been in the league now for 6 years. He does have talent and he has the look of a guy who's going to break out, like . . . Tim Thomas always has. But anyone consider it might not happen and he might always be the nice but not great player that he is now and not necessarily anything more?

not really...he's been playing behind Jermaine O'Neal & Ron Artest his entire career...this year will be the true test to see how high his ceiling really is, but he's already shown glimpses of being a star calibre player someday.

KT, Sweetney, Moochie & $3 million for Al Harrington & Tony Delk

C - Baker / Nazr
PF - Harrington / JYD
SF - TT / Penny / Shandon
SG - Houston / Crawford
PG - Marbury / Delk / Bremer
IR - Ariza / Sundov

do you guys think ATL would do it? [quote]

Sweetney is gonna be a bigger contributor to the team than you can imagine.

Besides Harrington is a SF, he is no PF!

This trade is all wrong, IT would never do it!.
