MSG Networks today announced that the following original programs are set to air on MSG, including the return of the popular Unnecessary Roughness presented by Bass Ale, The Boomer Esiason Show presented by Samsung and MaxPreps High School Weekly as well as the new weekly specials, Snapple High School Football Game of the Week and Knicks Life presented by Chevrolet.

“These five shows demonstrate the network’s continued commitment to the original sports programming our viewers have come to expect from us,” said Mike McCarthy, president, MSG Networks. “We’re thrilled to be able to associate these programs with high quality brands such as Chevrolet, Bass Ale, Snapple, Samsung and MaxPreps.”

Knicks Life presented by Chevrolet is a behind-the-scenes journal of the players, coaches and activities of one of the NBA’s legendary franchises. The bi-weekly show will run over the course of the NBA season. The premiere show will detail the summer of Stephon Marbury as he worked with kids, relaxed at home in Brooklyn with his family and played in the Summer Olympics. Other shows are slated to focus on training camp and are set to feature off-the-court profiles of Knicks players. The show is scheduled to begin in October.

Every Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. on MSG, NY football fans can get the inside scoop on the Giants, Jets and the rest of the league from NFL Insider, Jay Glazer as Unnecessary Roughness presented by Bass Ale returns for its third season. “UR”, which this year will be taped from the legendary Gallagher’s Steak House in Midtown Manhattan, will once again feature guest appearances from the Jets and Giants as they review their previous Sunday game, preview their respective upcoming opponents and of course, have a little fun - the Jay Glazer way! Unnecessary Roughness is produced by Paula McHale.

Former New York Jet QB, Boomer Esiason, is returning for his third season to MSG Networks as host of The Boomer Esiason Show presented by Samsung. Thursday night at 10:30 p.m., Boomer will welcome guests from sports, entertainment and news for candid discussions about events that impact New York City - both from within the sports industry and beyond. The show’s format will include both in-studio guest appearances as well as “on-the-town” segments from around the Big Apple. Ken Wolfe is the co-executive producer and Andrew Braun is the producer of show, which will premiere Sept. 23.

Mike Quick, THE source for high school sports in the tri-state area, is once again hosting MaxPreps High School Weekly. The show, which airs every Wednesday night at 10:30 p.m. on MSG, gives high school sports fans weekly results, behind the scenes action and compelling features on some of the area’s student athletes. In addition, the show features a new sponsor, MaxPreps.com, an online source for high school sports information that recently launched in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Mike Quick is the host and producer of the show.

Sunday mornings on MSG, high school football fans can now catch a marquee high school match-up during the Snapple High School Football Game of the Week. Recently, Wendy the Snapple Lady, teamed up with MSG Networks to promote the new show in a series of humorous commercials. The Snapple High School Game of the Week airs every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and is produced by Bob Lalwani.

Leon Schweir serves as the executive producer for MSG Networks.
