Damn, I was hoping to offload Lee to the OKC. To be honest, I think we’re stuck with Lee now until the trade deadline- all the possible options are gone now

Terrible deal for the Hawks- they essentially get nothing for schroder (would have got he first for Melos contract anyways)

ummm...just like I called it! Wonder if Schroeder is going to play SG? Considering Melo's age, OKC's desperation to unload his deal, at least they got some more help.

I read an interview where MDA said in essence that all is forgiven, if Melo wants to join the Rockets.

Might have something to do with Melo being a role player at this point in his career, and unable to use his leverage any more. Doubt Houston will put any into his contract.

I still think New Orleans is a possibility. Maybe for Ajinca and one more contract. They need quality wing players to hang around the playoff race.

If there is a team for Lee, it will probably be a playoff team that has lost some players due to injury. Lee would make a good mentor in Philly, free throws really matter in the playoffs as well. Sixers want to build on their playoff success.

They have Reddick for 12 mil a year. They don't need Lee.

Why I mentioned injuries as a motivating factor for a team to pursue Lee. Reddick gets hurt, or underperforms, his expiring contract would make him easier to move.

They get rid of Schroeder and get a pick. Not the best deal but they will have a boat load of cap room next year. So they can probably sell their cap space for more picks next year. It was not a bad deal for them.

Questionable for OKC. OKC now has an expensive back up. Would of thought they would just waive Melo. Good deal for Atlanta, they get rid of an expensive contract and pick up a draft pick.

As usually your missing the big picture

Unlike our FO, they allowed melo (under contract) to go out and talk to houston and miami about a possible fit.

Then OKC found a team that would be willing to trade for him then waive him so he can play with his desired team, The hawks Dumped Schroder (for a late first round pick, and cap relief) after they secured Trae and Lin. OKC could either trade Schroder down the road or keep him.

our FronT office caved in to melo, they could have told melo to either waive his NTC (Like he did with okc) or play another yr for the knicks (until they find a deal that benefits them), or tell him to sit at home LIKE THEY DID NOAH.

Surprised at Shroeder's low value. They wanted to move him at the draft and had no real takers. He makes 15 mil per which is relatively cheap in this market.

Melo should go to LA

The ball sticks but Melo don't.

If only Phil hadn't tipped off the league.

While not a PJ fan, the past comments suggesting he would have traded Melo for a bag of chips almost makes him look like a prophet now... Seeing that he didn't adjust his role/game in OKC, kinda understand why PJ was so desperate to get rid of him

If he was such a prophet, shouldn't he have foresaw that Melo wasn't going to adjust? And knowing this, why did the prophet give him the no trade clause?

I am a Schroeder fan personally.

Think he serves a number of purposes for OKC.

- can take some load off and maybe reduce some of Westbrook minutes
- gets in paint as well as anyone
- could play with Westbrook
- adds to their speed an athleticism
- insurance for Westbrook injury
