Knick history since the trade of Clyde is really one of lost opportunities and greed.

There were many fine moments and players with potential, but have we been cursed like the Cubs, Red Sox, etc for the sin of trading Clyde to Cleveland for Jim Cleamons?

A backcourt of Earl and Clyde was aging, and Earl Kept his spiney body together than the bigger Clyde. And I understand the reason for the trade, but lets face it, the team has blown chances to get Dr. J, but instead took reperation money from the Nets, Tried and was punished for trying to steal George Mcginnis, got burned on many trades and free agents like Spencer Haywood, Mcadoo, Marvin Webster.

Traded Rod strickland, and Mark Jax for little in retrun. Bernard Blew his knee. Suger Ray Richardson drug problems, Ray Williams incopetance, and into the 1990's, not having a management patient to build a great team around Patrick. And or course Dice blowing his knee on a slam putback of all things!

The list go's on and on, but I am getting tired of waiting!

Could Dolan and Isiah just be another false prophet and devil consumed by greed by failing once more and setting the franchise back? Are we so desporate for success that we are taking everything Isiah gives us as gospel?

Or are we content with being competitive for entertainment purpose and just continue to have faith?

Clyde, we are sorry for the exile to Cleveland! Please forgive us!

I think its time we stop blaming Laydog on everything. The process of starphuching was long in place before he took over.

Im not obsolving him of his fair share of screwups, but the list is long and his tenure was short.

I don't blame Layden completely. He did screw us for the duration of Houston's contract (and Shan's...), but I agree the philosophy has been in place here for many moons. The building process has never been one that looks to win a championship FIRST. The first goal is to pack the Garden and to create interest, something Zeke obviously excels at. The second goal is to create an interesting championship team. But obviously, if we try to sell out the Garden every single year we're never going to be able to snag that no. 1 pick.

I was most disappointed when Dyess went down in 2002. I wish they had just packed it in and gone for a really high pick in what was obviously a stacked draft, even early on.

The nice thing about Zeke is that this team is now legitimately one piece away from being a true contender while also being the kind of team this city loves. We'll see what Zeke can do, but no, I don't think we're cursed. Maybe short-sighted and unlucky.
