Agreed....I called this in another thread...The supporting cast in L.A is perhaps better than the Cavs cast. LBJ showing a lot of faith in Magic to build a championship team around him.

Already makes a mint off of outside $$$. LeBron has been all about rings since he left Cleveland, the first time. Im guessing this is more about putting down roots, for himself, and his family. Not to mention go big in the entertainment industry. Doubt 150 million over 4 years would play that big a role in his decision. Still has to be paid...

Not all that surprising. During the last labor negotiations, LBJ, Chris Paul and Melo were all on the "Executive Committee" for the NBAPA. They all pushed for a change from the Over 36 Rule to the Over 38 version, which all would soon apply to them. They apparently gave up a lot on the players side to make it happen ( read - they sold out every other player in the NBAPA to get it done)

Klutch Sports under Rich Paul is based in LA. Not a huge secret, LBJ runs it with Rich Paul as his front. It's a violation of just about every safeguard built into any CBA ever negotiated in the NBA. The larger overall problem is Klutch Sports wants to cover more than just athletes, they want to branch out into all forms of mass entertainment representation.

You could have put Charles Manson and Hitler in charge of the Lakers and LBJ would have signed that deal. Nike wanted him there. The league administration and networks wanted a Rivalry 3.0 of the classic Celtics/Lakers pairing.

The Lakers need to dump Deng and DeMarcus Cousins is the new target. He's the one player that could give the Warriors real problems in the playoffs. ( Still could not beat them clean though even with DMC)

Low odds of it happening in public, but there are really really really ugly things out there quietly about the Lakers signing Caldwell Pope to a massive one year deal that had no real market place bearing and the Lakers being able to dump Clarkson's contract on the Cavs. Really ugly stuff.

It's not Classic LeGM until a power forward who can't play defense suddenly gets overpaid. Let's see what happens.

All of this has very little to do with Magic Johnson. Rob Pelinka, former agent and current GM of the Lakers might as well quit right now.
