Given that KP will likely miss most/all of the season, I think we'd want to sign a 4 with our ~$8.6M mid-level exception from among this group: https://hoopshype.com/2018/06/23/nba-free-agency-2018-power-forwards/
Who do you like and think is possible/reasonable for the price?
To me, this is likely a one-year signing so it's as much about culture and team direction as about who will contribute most to wins next year. So I'd like a young-ish, defensive-minded guy: Mbah a Moute, Davis, Bjelika, Grant might fit the bill. I'd rather pass on Beasly.

One of my favorite players out there that i want, that's affordable for us is Jerami Grant. I think his game just keeps getting better and think if he wasn't surrounded by scorers last year in Westbrook, Melo and PG that he could of been even better. Would love to get him. Other names would be D.Favors but probably won't be able to afford him, Mbah A Moute, D.Cunningham, K.Looney, T.Booker.

The guy on the top of my list is J.Randle but we can't afford him and he's a RFA and RFA's hardly ever go to new teams.

I think KP will be back. HE is young and he wants to play. The only reason to keep him out is if the the team is out of the playoffs by January 1st.

I hope Kanter opts-IN and works on his D all summer. He is a tradeable contract as soon as he opts in too. So, Kanter with someone could get you a higher value target come trade deadline.

The Bucks are supposedly the team most interested in E.Kanter so i wonder if we could do a Kanter for J.Parker trade. Parker is a RFA so it could be a sign and trade deal. Parker has the multiple knee injuries but when he's healthy he's a really good player and can play both forward spots.

I would love for the Knicks to get Grant. I do think he is going to get a deal that might be too much for the Knicks. Management is saying they are giving out only one year deals so I don't think they will pursue him. I think he would be a great target because I don't see OKC being able to match an offer to him with their salary situation.

Ed Davis, I Like a lot (always seems to have a positive impact, even if his numbers are never amazing).

I don't think we'll have much choice- as we're only offering 1 year, it's pretty much whoever is left standing. Plus we might even split it into two $4mil one year deals.

Also Noel may be worth a shot as a backup C.

Basically we need a player that can swing between PF/C to replace KOQ, who can rebound and play defense. I'd say we also need a backup C as I don't trust Noah to last or play meaningful minutes.

It's actually unlikely he will miss most or all of the season. I expect him back within the first couple of months. People with the Knicks saying otherwise are just trying to temper expectations and will offer worst case until they know otherwise. The fact is he is extremely young and had the easiest ACL tear to recover from since there was no other damage.

I would ride with Noah, and Kornet until the first trade deadline. See what kind of shape Noah is in, see if Kornet upped his game over the summer.

We're not contending, as long as the Knicks arent a hot mess in the frontcourt coming out of camp, Id rather Perry/Mills take a wait.and see attitude.

I like the Jabari idea. What would his contract look like if you did a sign and trade?

Bucks are interested in dumping Teletovic, Henson and/or Delladova in that order.

They wouldn't move Jabari Parker for Kanter. Not without some other Knicks assets moving with Kanter.

They don't want Kanter for Kanter, they want him as a slight upgrade over contracts they desperately want to dump.

Because of the unfortunate situation with his father, Kanter needs to be in proximity to NY/the UN. Bizarrely the Nets might get him for a song next offseason as a street free agent.

We shall see. I expect them to be super cautious with him. ACL's take time. From my understanding (son tore his twice, so I know a little about it) the rehabbing helps, but doesn't speed things up -- we were told you just need to be patient. That said, I have no inside info on this and maybe they'll get confident he's good to go before the 1 year anniversary of the injury, but I'd be surprised, unless you know something I don't.

I'd like him to come back this season, even if the Knicks seem to be out of the playoff picture by the time he's ready, so he can start to get confidence in his body again and be ready to go full out the 2019/2020 season without fear.

Why do you talk like you're the Bucks GM or someone that works closely enough with the Bucks GM to know any of these things you're saying?

I don't know but it'll be tricky to come up with the right contract with a guy with his injury history.

Can the Knicks trade an opt in before Decebember 15? I think I would unload Kanter. I don’t really see a team winning with him as the starting center. I don’t mind the trade that brought him here, I would just be headed in another direction.
You know I gonna spin wit it
