The Indiana Pacers are declining Lance Stephenson’s $4.3M team option and he’ll be a free agent, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
-Shams Charania.

Wish we could sign him for what we were paying KOQ. Bring home the Queens native.

Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

No thanks. I'd like to slow things down a little on the combo-guard front. I'd rather keep our outgoing Queens native at a decent price.

he guards SF more on defense, but you are right in the sense that we have enough 6,7 through 6'5 guys.

Lance is a lunatic that only plays well in Indiana. And they let him go once again.

PASS.

Although Lance can be a bit erratic, I thought he was a serviceable cog on the Pacer team. Sad

We're not signing Lance. We're going young.

I would take him over the lance we got, who is getting paid almost twice as much, and producing about half of what the other lance gives you.

WHat's the point? Next year is a tank year anyway. No way Lance is a player here for more than a year.

Because our star player is out, management announced it is doing very little this free agency period and our coacing staff is emphasizing player development. Maybe tank is too strong a word. But we're definitely focused on youth development.

Look how great we did last year. Our additions are raw rookies. We may lose some depth at center. Our marquee player is Tim Hardaway jr, who shoots 42 percent from the field and 32 from 3, without contributing in defense, playmaking or rebounding and is a net negative with the intangibles. The real question is why don't you agree with me?

The Celtics gave all eastern teams hope. If they can make it that far, with their top two stars going down, why can't the knicks and everybody else? I'm sure Knox did not and will not get that memo of tanking. Same with all the other young players looking to shine. Fiz can talk playing rookies until he turns blue in the face. But come mid year and the knicks stink, Fiz will change his tune. That's the pressure of NYC media and fans. They will be patient in the beginning, until the blowouts start building up.

Tanking is over- the odds have changed as of next draft:

http://www.tankathon.com/pick_odds

Pretty much 1 through 5 or 6 have the same odds of a top 3 pick, but even 7th has roughly the same odds of the 3 pick.

I am not sure I understand or agree with this sentiment. There will be tanking but it will be different than in years past. After you get below a certain line - say the #6/7 pick - you may not tank as hard as in years past if there is clear separation. If there is a large group all between 4-10 within a game or so of each other, there will be a lot of tanking for those teams; it'll just be different I'd guess, but we will have to see.

I would say tanking is definitely NOT over but it'll be different and the odds of staying in the top picks may vary.

Another way to look at it is to say tanking will be a little easier. Not as much pressure to be the worst team in the league.
