We have N Muhammed, K Thomas, J Williams, M Sweetney, V Baker not including T Thomas when Wilkins plays 3 guards. Who will not get any time at the 4 or 5? I think this is why K Clark will not join the Knicks, he might want some playing time somewhere.

Since KT, JYD, and Sweetney all play the same position, we may not see JYD :( . I guess training camp will decide who doesn't play, but what do people think?

I think it gets spread out. At the 5: Nazr 24 mpg, Vin 12 and KT 12. At the 4, Sweets 24, KT 12 and JYD 12.

I think whoever wins the starting jobs will get at least 30 minutes. The rest is left for guys to fight for. I'm praying Sweetney beats out Kurt for the start at PF. Then your looking at
PF Sweetney 30
C Nazr 30
The other 36 minutes give or take go to the bench. Its hard to tell which guys will get the most minutes, because JYD, KT and Vin all offer some good things, and are all very different players. Its nice, because a year ago we had Othella, KT, Spoon... all totally redundant in what they do.

why should Nazr start at center over Kurt? Because he's barely 1 inch taller?!!

Kurt is actually a better shotblocker and that's not saying much and Kurt offense and defense is far better than Nazr's. Out of all those front court players Nazr has the lest to offer.

I'm sorry all, but I just can't see K.T not starting at the beginning of the season. Maybe once the halfway marked is reached..... but until then I think K.T starts. We all have to remember that K.T is a proven pick and roll type guy which works well with Marbury. Throw Craword at the 2 spot and it becomes very hard for teams to switch and double off the pick and roll. Unless Lenny throws the pick and roll out of his offense, I can't see how K.T won't start. Beside Baker, who else can hit that shot as consistently?

exactly we should be hoping for Sweetney to take Nazr's spot in the starting lineup not Kurt's! I just don't see them sitting their $8 million dollar vet..unless they trade him lol

you can say the Knicks will never win a championship with a 6-9 center but will starting 6-10 Nazr win you a championship? Nope

I dont like it. JYD and VB only getting 12 minutes a game? And everyone else only 24. I think someone doesn't play.

first: Nazr is actually 6'10 where KT is much closer to 6'8.
second Nazr is 250, where KT and his veggies diet are 225. Like BRIGGS said the other day freaking 2-guards are 225.
third: Nazr is a better athlete, and while KT has better fundamentals he's to slow and small to finish around the basket. Nazr will get you more garage points because he can dunk and even alley oop. Thats just not in KTs game.
fourth: KT shoots 47-48%. Thats 'ok' for a PF. Last year Nazr shot 56% for us. Thats off the charts. I dont expect that again, but based on the kind of shots he gets over 50% is fair.

Nazr isnt scaring anyone on D or offense, but his size and athletcism makes him a better fit. He had some monster games last year getting 20/15 several times without ever getting a play called for him. When he does that its on dunks and shots 5 feet from the basket. When KT has a game like that its because his jumper is falling.

IMHO Nazr is more important.

I personally think the only one who will be lacking playing time at the PF/C position is JYD. Kurt/Nazr/Sweetney and Baker are all good at these positions and i can't see any reason why decent playing time won't be given to these players. Noone on this team is playinmg 40 mins though. It's hard to speculate who will get what total amount of playing time because we have to work with what works during matchups. Injuries and age/conditioning also plays a huge factor in who plays for how long. IMO I would love to see K.T and Baker play along-side each other, but being that they are the only ones who can hit a decent 10-15 ft (at that position that we know of) you wouldn't want to risk them getting early fouls and it probably would be best having them in at different times. All in all we sure do have alot of options. We can argue for days on who should start. I Love this.

P.S

How did we ever survive with just K.T, Mutumbo, and FatSpoon?

Fishmike;

That was a good point you just mentioned. Nazr did put up great numbers on mostly hustle plays. We hardly isolate him down-low so I am unclear of his post moves and jump shooting abilities. Good point mentioned.

Nazer was brought in to be our Center of the future, you all must have forgot. I am ready to bet money with all of you, the guys that will playing at the 4 and 5 are as follow:

Nazer, Sweetney, JYD,

between Vinny and Kurt one of them will be left out.

Why would u want to leave any of them out? How can u ever trade K.T if u don't showcase him? K.T's minutes will be down, but I still think he starts. I wonder who is going to be the first to post on November when the starting line-up is mentioned? I'll just say my "I told you so" now just in case I don't make it on here then...... I TOLD YOU SO!

Staring Lineup:

Nazr
K.T
T.T
Houston
Marbury

exactly...thats just ridiculous. It's not like this is going to be his 2nd season in the NBA. He's been in the League for a good 5 or more seasons now and he was never Atlanta's Center of the future lol

Does anyone watch the NBA or just listen to Isiah. Naz was brought in to be out center of the future. That is the single dumbest thing i have ever heard in my life. He was a back-up in both Philly and Atlanta and now he is our center of the future.

Leave Kurt out, anyone who believes that just doesn't have any concept of basketball. He is blue-collar and for the first time in a long team we have a rotation that is like those teams in the early 90s'

Mase, Oak, Smith, Ewing

KT, Sweets, JYD are all blue-collar, and they are all going to get minutes.

Kurt should start at center, with either sweetney or Naz in the line-up. Kurt rebounds, plays d and can hit the open shot, he is not dealing with the athletes at the 4 he would be dealing with at the 5 so it is a perfect role. Does anyone remember the 14/9 he average before the break a year ago.

Front Court Depth is not a problem. The Knicks are stronger then ever if they just get production from sweetney and Vin Baker give us some games from the past

So close to the 90's, but yet so far. I say this because none of these players can dominate like Pat Ewing. One of the greatest centers to play the game.

yep and it's too bad he was given all that grief by the NY media.

I'm still hopeful the Knicks will have their star calibur center again either via free agency or draft.

Nazr sure isn't the Center of the future I have in mind lol

It's silly to have this discussion now. Let them battle it out in training camp and preseason for minutes and the best men will be left standing.
