Mutombo problably asked to be traded to a winning team and Houston was perfect since both Pat and Yao are there

It's Mutombo's fifth team in 3 years. I guess no one wants to keep him now.

Kindof a Herb Williams move for Deke... I like that trade for the Rockets for it at least gives them a big body to back up Yao.

I dont expect alot of quality minutes from deke but I do believe JVG is smart enough to know when the time is right to put him in the game and in limited minutes he can be an asset.Having Patrick and Dikembe there for Yao is a plus any way you look at it.I just hope Mutumbo is smart enough not to complain about minutes this time.This is probably his last stop.

i doubt deke would. i'm sure he knows he's going into an inviroment where he knows yao is the man now, and the future. he made a big deal about it here due to the fact that he was at the time the only real center and inside presence.

I think you're right. Mutombo is too slow to guard most Cs in the league now. He can be helpful in practice, though, and helpful if he personally mentors Yao and tries to teach Yao everything he knows.
