After all the banter about melo and kris not even avg 1 assist, why doesn't he get the same heat?

This is the "Be-careful-what-you-ask-for" senario

You do realize that KP isn’t a finished product right? KP is still learning how to be a Primary Scorer, adding to his scoring moves and perfecting his skills. KP is 7-3 and guys his size aren’t expected to be able to pull off these kinds of moves.

I suspect KP is going to continue to evolve as an offensive player. This is still early in his development. He can still go in a different direction as he gains weight and strength.

There is a lack of improvement that needs to be addressed by KP. Remember the line Chris Webber and KG were often quoted 20-10-5, 50% shooting. most unfortunate with young KP is that he was heavily influenced by Melo. It’s going to be great for the bank account but not so much for basketball immortality. Just wished KP was better influenced by players that play the game the right way. One thing you can’t fault KP with his heart on defense I enjoy his help defense.

The simple answer is he is still out producing what he gets paid due to his rookie contract. Once he starts making 25-30mil....

But I do agree with the notion that it should be our 3rd yr unicorn creating easier shots for our 19 yr old prospect not the other way around. As well as the rest of the team. We have seen throughout the season more awareness to pass out from KP but he still has a long way to go.

Would like him to mold himself more after Garnett in defense, rebounding and passing. To go with a 3 pt shot. He will probably never be the rebounder KG was. But that is the trade off for the 3 pt shots. The rest of the game is doable even if not at the same level of numbers. 9 revs instead of 14. 3 ast instead of 5-6.

Mainly because he is only 22 and still figuring everything out, and he is an elite defensive player, whereas Melo was also subpar.

At the same time a lot of KPs problems are more physical development then anything else. That has more so hurt him then the development of his skill set. He isn't strong enough to establish deep position in the paint even vs smaller players. And he isn't a great pick setter for PNR or PNP. He at the moment is a mid range and long range shooter until he becomes strong enough to do those other things at a high level. His mid range jump will also improve though and become even more automatic due to his size and if we can get the refs to call out when players smack his elbows which would be easy ft attempts.

Long story short the coaching staff has to wait more so for his physical development in order to take the next step.

Melo was taking that same shot from that same spot when he was 19, all he did was get stronger, his style never changed, that's the case for 95% of nba players. Go look at derrick rose and AI college days, same style of play in the NBA..

Kp will get stronger, and his IQ will raise a bit, but the rest is going to hinder on, coach, system, roster, right now that's not in his favor.

To me, he is not a half court player, his skills are more suited for a MDA system, fast, spacing 3 point shooting.

Not much has change in KPs game since 2014, and i blame that on the knicks

KP still isn't finished growing as a player. He just proved he can take on the load. Now we have to see if he can take on the responsibility of being the #1. Melo never did that. Melo was always about getting his and everyone else get in line. That's not in KPs heart. He's got to watch tape and get new trainers to take him to the next level when he comes back. He still has 2 more levels to get to. We'll see

Fans forget that all these overseas players have been playing professional basketball for years before joining the NBA.

Their "game" is set. This who they are. Maybe their outside shot improves a bit or they learn to play with the back against the basket but if you're hoping for big changes from these guys, you are going to be very disappointed.

Some players are like that, not all. KP showed more of a post game this season. A post game is no small thing. Got better as a rim defender. Better numbers overall I believe. Im more worried about that being the case with Frank. Hope we're both wrong in that respect.

Is he figuring it out? His shot selection is certainly not improving.

pretty obvious at this point knicks1248 is a Russian bot. Cant hold a thought more than 2 sentences, really bad English, only posts things that will inflame posters and loves to eat those stinky little fish out of cans. This is easy detective work.

He drops one more Dr. Zhivago reference however, and I will start to be concerned.
