In the future KP needs to be positioned a 5.

There will always be times where we can play 2 bigs but the future of winning starts with moving KP to 5--making this team much quicker and much more mobile. He's a really good player but he is not a KD 4--hes to tall and not mobile enough. Its almost like saying Beasley and Carmelos best position is 4 because it is.
Our GM and coaches need to assimilate this first before building out.

No doubt he will be. At least see half the time at the 5. He needs to be paired with someone long-term who can defend 4s and 5s, rebound, and hit open jumpers. But for right now, Kanter is fine.

I can’t see the Knicks ever playing KP at center for any extended time.

You couldn’t just bump one of the other 10 threads you made about this?

Exactly KP himself knows he is not a 5 and does not want to play there and people are still advocating for the move SMH.

To be honest...the play he hurt himself on was one he'd be making a lot as a center.

I would like to see him play more at the 5, but he needs some extra weight and muscle.

He runs around too much as a 4, but will also be worn down at the 5 without the extra strength.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

He's got a full year to put on 10-15 hard pounds. He can alter his physique and game quite a bit now

He had only missed 7 games this season. Few play all 82. I'd say he was on track for 70-72.
why hold him to the highest standard. Many players have had bad stretches.

Bascially its KP vs. Imaginary concept for the hater. don't get me wrong, this injury sucks. Only good thing is he might for the first time as an adult think about things other than basketball.
For haters, why focus on the negative or his flaws? Perhaps 5-6 players enter the league as no. 1 and fulfill the promise in a ten year cycle. After that its a bit of a crap shoot.
Townes was nearly flawless but think about others. Anthony davis has had problems. Fultz has yet to play and its not pre.tty. Simmons broke his damn foot. We can go on and on about top draftees.

Whats the deal, protect your emotions because your afraid to root for your guy? Never dated in High school cuz "she too tall", "She too Skinny", "she too fat", "She too quiet", "She too loud"......Sometimes you just go with what you got, and improve as time goes on. With KP, we all worried about this. Why? Kid possesses a freakish abilty for a 7'3 player.
Worth the risk. Glad we drafted him. Better than Cauley-Stein! Better than imaginary concept you can dream of. Those are not real.

Messiah's get tested. Ewing broke his leg. Jordan broke his foot. Shyt happens.

Actually was watching Cauley-Stein and thought he looked good. He actually seems to be coming in to his own. 10 years, we may wish we had listened to Briggs (and the day he said draft WCW vs. the other days he said something different).

Fear of regret. KP Avg 23pts, 7 rebs, 2 blks, allstar. Briggs says a lot of things. You have one pick, one choice and no crystal ball. Here, you get to revisit history with no accountability the morning after. Second guessing on porch means you never got off the porch.

The last thing you want to do with bad knees is gain weight. Gaining a few pounds is okay but KP is pretty much who he is now.

In the future KP needs to be positioned a 5.
