I would be down depending what we get back. Salary still has to match.

I had thought about this, and maybe it makes sense.

But if there was ever a case for a guaranteed contract to be canceled, this is it.

does this mean we can play in this years free agent class?
Basically can we sign a player instead of drafting one?
If we make such a trade, what comes back? An expiring?
Can we protect the pick?? Please!!!!
Im not sold on the idea, but I'll keep an open mind before getting all pissy and lay blame with a good rant!

We need to never have any former bulls center again!!
We had:
Luc Longley (minor commitment!)
Eddy (Not quite McHale and Parish for Joe barry carroll. but pretty bad!)
Tyson chandler (started good, ended bad)
Noah

if we can swing an extra 1st by trading the likes of oquinn/lee/kanter? i wouldn't mind attaching it with noah to get the contract off the books. but that's only if we get another.

in absolutely NO way would i be for trading a lottery pick to move noah - that makes absolutely no sense to me, let's not cut our nose to spite our face here.

lol, so true. no more bulls centers and no more trades with the raptors, there's just no way either will end well for us.

He'll move on. We still have two-second rounders. He might even prefer it.

Yeah, id rather just send him home. Say what you want about Noah, he's a professional. He'll learn to live with the idea of getting paid to do nothing. He'll have more value as an expiring in the last year of the deal.

This is why we suck. We sign someone to an overpaid contract, get rid of the GM and now need to trade a 1st rnd pick to get rid of the player. We are going backwards doing this. Fuck Noah. Either accept a buyout and get less money or sit your ass on the bench or at home. After next year he will be an expiring contract and we can get rid of him.

why, the only thing you should be done with is trading 1st picks for trash.

Not to mention, this franchise doesn't have a history of drafting well to begin with, especially this current regime. They are more likely to draft a 5 yr project, then a stud.

They won't. We are already in this position due to not having our 2014 I and 2016 lotto picks to build with.

Can't deal our pick with him, no way. Only if we managed to get a 2nd pick, which i doubt we will. Just let him sit at home for the next 2 years for all i care.

I wouldn't mind dealing a first round pick with Noah if its 2020 pick or later, in 2020 we should be really a late first round pick team and also I am pretty sure we can get a 2018 or 2019 first round pick for dealing away KOQ / Lee etc.
Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

Yeah, we thought that when we dealt those picks in the Eddy Curry trade. Ended up turning into Aldridge and (ironically) Noah.

Maybe Noah and a second for Batum but Batum might have the worst contract in the nba and it is longer than Noah's deal. I think he probably gets waived and stretched. He is smart not to take less money. He is a league minimum guy at this point and won't find another sucker to give him a deal like he got in NY.

Wojo stated the obvious on the broadcast last night that picks are not being thrown around like they were a few years ago.
The hard cap is taking picks as a greater priority. THe Nets trade to boston had horrific consequences. Its tough to trade out a few years.
A horrible injury to star player where he loses a year. Remember when Boston tanked and David Robinson got hurt and SAS got Duncan? Say KP fulfills his destiny but blows out an ACL and loses a year? Not a career ender but if we don't have our pick that year.........Its a problem! Gotta protect those picks!!!

and Phuch the notion that anyting in our history should prevent us from moving ahead. With a priority on youth you don't give up because you run into development walls!! Those who understand expect it. We beat Boston a few weeks ago at home. We lost last night. Team was awful. Go a few games like then then we can talk "Team is tuning out coach, etc". But not after one quarter.

Noah is not a problem. He is home. Im sure he is a proud man and wants to play. He can, just give up money. if he chooses money then he has to go with our timeline.
Every fan wants him to be healthy and succeed. Trade him with our 1st rounder? Im not liking that. Id rather trade Willy with him.

I’d rather take on Nicholas Batum for Noah, (who’s contract is worse) instead of giving up #1.
At least Batum would fill a need as a defensive playmaking small forward. Especially if we trade C.Lee. He can make his fellow Frenchman Ntlinkina a secondary ball handler which I would prefer.
Noah plus a first?
