Was thinking the same, especially for OKC. C.Lee would fit perfectly in that 2 guard spot for them.
If not a #1 maybe their pick from the last draft Ferguson who’s only 19.

Getting a #1 from New Orleans might be tougher bc they’re a fringe playoff team.

I agree. There is no way we are going into next season with all four of our current centers. We might as well trade one rather than lose him without any compensation. I would definitely deal either Kantor or KOQ. If someone offers something really good, I would even trade Willy. I am not as concerned about trading lee, but if someone offered a first round pick, we would have to take it. If we have 2-3 picks in the first round, we may be able to trade up to get the small forward we need.

Lee is not worthy of a 1st because of his contract. A high 2nd at best.

A late-ish 1st is not unreasonable- Wizards gave one up for a 3 month rental at the deadline last year (for Bognaovic or someone like that)

Actually I've just checked and OKC owe their 2018 first to the Twolves and their 2020 to the magic, so we can't get a 1st from them. Best you could hope for would be T. Ferguson. Plus we'd have to eat a contract of theirs to make the deal work. I don't think OKC are a good trade partner for us.

However maybe the Twolves are- they're owed OKCs first rounder for this year, and have all of their own after that (this year they owe their own to Atlanta. They have expiring contracts to match salary (Pekovic at $10mil), plus we were interested in Bjelica during the Rubio rumors. They need a better bench and three point shooting so might be interested in KOQ or Lee or maybe even Lance

Hearing that teams are calling about Kanter has me intrigued. I’m not huge on paying him 19M on an expiring deal next season and I can’t see him opting out in this market.

That said, I would listen hard on Enes in addition to KOQ, Lee, Thomas. I don’t want to move Willy because his contract is so favorable and I think he can do most of what Enes does. I’d also jump at including Baker in a trade to match up dollars. Flexibility and young cheap guys with upside has to be the focus for both the existing roster and for trade targeting.

OKC doesn't have a 1st rounder to trade until 2022 cause they already traded their 2018 and 2020 1st rounders.

The issue with trading with OKC (aside from the fact that they don't have a first intil 2022) is that they will be reluctant to take any additional salary. And as things stand, they don't have too many expendable contracts beyond Kyle Singler to facilitate a trade. I do wonder how they feel about Abrines though. I'm not a fan but he does have a skill they can utilize, so I'm not sure how much they'd consider him to be a net-negative asset. But my compensation would be Terrence Ferguson...and I'd be willing to include Dotson to balance things out.

Yeah the Pelicans and OKC are not great trade partners.

T.Ferg is interesting but the math doesn't add up.

...and I'd definitely need a lightly protected first from the Pelicans. And I'd need something from the Thunder to balance things out.
