If you notice Virgina games--players on offense are not given space and the dribble drive is cut off a lot. Can you get NBA players to keep their arms up move their feet and give 110% for 48 minutes? Thats the NBA question--youd have to have the right guys--but in terms of defense--its simply man to man
When Riley first arrived in NY teams averaged taking around seven 3s per game. They are now averaging almost 29 per game and they're shooting them from much deeper. If you really think players can camp out 16 ft from the hoop and sprint out to where today's NBA shooters are shooting from (especially with how quick they're now getting off three pointers) I would suggest doing more research on his Pack Line Defense. May work in college, problematic in today's NBA.
Bennett would have to totally adjust his philosophy, similar to Billy Donovan. Donovan ran a 40 minute pressing defense at Florida. Not happening in the NBA.
