It seems like 2019 is shaping up to be a year that we can make a nice splash in free agency if we are prepared. The key is not to overspend on a piece this summer that doesn't move the needle.

Our major concern to address this offseason is an athletic wing who can create plays. We are just too slow on the perimeter. We really need to hit on this draft first and foremost. Maybe we don't find a Kuzma, but there are upper classmen we can target who fill a role and can contribute right away. Hutchison, Milton, and Shamet are all combo guards/wings who can make plays and contribute in year 1.

Free agency this summer should be focused on securing Beasley to a team-friendly contract and hope to grab another wing on a 1 year deal that falls through the cracks, similar to what happened with T Evans in Memphis. No other moves should be made that add long-term salary.

Going into summer 2019 we should have under contract Porzingis, Hardaway, Ntilikina, Beasley, Dotson, Hernangomez, 2018 1st round pick, 2 2018 2nd round picks, 2019 1st round pick. Lee should be dealt prior to clear that space and Noah stretched out.

Leonard will be a free agent. I don't see Pop trading him prior, so i think he will ride it out and make his decision then. Maybe Klay Thompson wants a new challenge? Kris Middleton is an excellent option at SF. And Kemba will be a free agent as well. A lot of great options here for us. Just need to be ready and really improve from within next season and become a playoff team so we have a nice situation for one of these guys.
