So we should trade KP to whoever drafts him?

Nice find. I honestly believe a PG with these abilities -- speed, breakdown ability, a guy that can get in the lane, a scorer, looks like this kid can shoot the ball well too and he's got some moxie to him as well which you gotta like -- can only help us. Upgrading this position will be a game changer for us. No doubt about it.

If our pick was 15 and K Knox and Mikal Beidges was gone--I would not hesitate to take 6-2 Jalen Brunson with that pick. This player here would be interesting IF we DO get a SF at 10-15 and we have two picks in rd 2. Remember this Steph Curry was a purported second rounder half way through his last year in college. Go back and look at my posts--I had him as a top 15 pick all year. Ive pretty much been on with the currys--I think this guy is something of a more athletic more PG orientated Seth Curry. I want to see the 3 point shooting stay at 45% all year. Hes got similarities and his volume FT are at 90% right now. RIP Crushalot😞

I bring up the height because it kinda negates some of the physical advantages he has at the next level. He looks physically dominant in those highlights, but then you have factor in that he's almost four years older than the guys he's playing against. Also, I like Holiday over brunson as a potential change of pace guy in the second-round because of his defense. Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. Nalod wrote:WE giving up on Frank already? I don't think he's saying that. Frank's got some uniqueness to his game with his size and defense but he's got a ton of work to do in other areas. Even defensively, he needs work (I like that he gets his hands on some balls but he has trouble keeping guys in front of him). Real hard for me to look at Frank and say we drafted our lead guard for the next 15 years. I like Frank, think he'll be useful, but I think we need to find another PG that contrasts/complements what he brings to the table. |

It's definitely youtube player pron but if he's legit, he could be a microwave off the bench. But didn't see him pass the ball once in that video. Where are his assists @ Briggs? If he can't pass, he will no longer fit on this team.

Even when he gets beat, he's able to recover and force his man into bad passes and forced shots. I agree, a change of pace guy would be nice, but I can't call a necessity at this point. He has poor court vision in general. And he won't get to the line as much at the NBA level. Like a lot of college players who don't make it in the NBA, his college production is reliant on him creating his own shot, which he can do against inferior competition. At the NBA level though, it's a different story. He'll also end up a zero on defense at the next level. And, as mentioned before, his stats are padded by being more experienced and physically developed than his competition. Gray would need to shoot the 3 ball at an elite level in the NBA to carve out a real role in a rotation. Like a lot of guys Briggs touts, he has a bit of that Corey Maggette Flaw ( i.e. a empty counting stats guy where his best skill set is he doesn't understand his limitations and his worst skill set is he doesn't understand his limitations) Wes Van Beck actually has a slightly more projectible skill set as a 3 And D wing. |

But I can see him as a solid championship piece to add......off the bench.......until he proves otherwise. Just because he was a high pick.....doesnt mean he will become an NBA starter. But I'm still glad we picked him......We are on the right track.. Adding 2 way players. Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland.
The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

Can you imagine how ridiculous Frank would be playing against college competition 4 years from now? That’s what you have to imagine to get to an apples to apples comparison of Frank vs Gray. I think of how dominant a similar aged Michael Gbinije looked for Cuse his last season. His age and experience gave him a big advantage over 19 year old but almost nobody saw him as a future good NBA player.
There are a dozen Rob Grays every year. He’s five years out of high school so he looks really, really good against younger competition. You have to ask why is he still in college at 24? If he had NBA athleticism he would have entered the draft years ago. He’s not long and he doesn’t look explosive in an nba way to me. Objectively his odds of having any sort of NBA career are slim. He’s a great guy to take a flyer on with a mid second round pick. Personally, I’d look for his equivalent athleticism but 3 years younger with that pick. |
