(Yeah, I know it's called G-League, but I ain't playing that.)
A year or two ago I went to a Westchester Knicks game. Fun time, good game, place was just too far from where I live.
Wow, the Nets D-League team are now playing at the Coliseum on Long Island. I'm there. I went to the opener....only three thousand fans there. Place holds 13,500 and only 3K show up. This is the opening game, the first b-ball game played in a brand new Coliseum, Dr. J was there for a raising of his banner ceremony...and high school football playing across the street at Hofstra draws more. No joke, high school foot ball draws more. And I watched yesterday's LI Nets game on TV, I swear there were no more than 300 people there.! 300 fans!
The Long Island Nets are in trouble. Problem is $17 for the cheapest ticket. I don't understand what the execs are thinking. This is a minor league sport and the LI Nets are playing in a city with TWO professional b-ball teams, yet, they want to charge 20 bucks for the cheapest seat. I love watching D-League but they are going to commit business suicide with pricing like that.
That's my rant. I hope Prokhorov reads it.
