They have a ton more problems than that
1) They have a ton of guys with injury issues - Thomas, Rose, Wade, Calderon
2) They lack the defense to run with the Warriors - Their best wing defender after Shumpert might be Korver, which is insane.
3) They have no one who can defend the rim consistently
4) LBJ is a lame duck, and his previous lame duck years, Heat and first Cavs run, showed badly how much he will mail it in
5) LBJ will have to cycle down in his PEDS/Juice schedule to get his "random" tests out of the way, meaning the first half, the team might struggle and if they can catch up will wear them down.
6) Thompson and Love have both shown they are matchup liabilities for the Warriors.
Given the lack of defense in general, they are going to wear Jae Crowder down to the bone by the playoffs.
They will make the Finals by virtue of a gutted East, but this is a poorly built team surrounded by "names" who are past their prime.
Rockets got PJ Tucker and Luc Mbah A Moute, not huge names, but players who can actually help ( not overcome or overwhelm) against the Warriors.
Morey - Good GM, forward thinking, doesn't care about names when it comes to complementary players. Clint Capela is miles better than Love AND Thompson specifically against the Warriors. He's not more talented than Love, but he is a better fit in a series matchup. And cheaper.
LBJ - Bad de facto GM, a complete idiot. This guy is just really f**king stupid. Wade doesn't shoot the three, has an injury history, doesn't play defense, doesn't play back to backs, is 20 pounds overweight and his teammates now mostly hate him. He's also a ball hog. Instead of spending the money on Korver, they could have tried to at least address protecting the rim somehow. Bogut went to the Lakers for the minimum. The Cavs couldn't have used him at all?
