The lackadaisical New York font curvature and size on the current home unis feels out of proportion on taller players like Portzingis. The cap height is far too short and (most important) the arc of the font is halfhearted and off center. The numerals on the front are tiny. See the uniforms from 1968 for a clue. The white warmups from the era of "Big Time" Danny Whelan and Red Holzman would be sweet.
thoughts?
Earl, I tend to agree but its also the romance of a by gone era and the affinity we had for that time. We were young, knicks were the best team but had a bit of personality! It was also the time and place!
Clyde bought a style and grace but it was contemporary. The personalty of glamor, Blue collar and ivy league all worked on and off the court. Willis had a presence of authority!! Later, Earl bought the funk and Lucas the intellect.
Funny, the font of the letter and space looks a bit awkward when you look at it. The N and the K are under the arm pits. The blue has also been made lighter over the years.
The white warm ups were classic as was Whelan's orange top!!!
I suppose if you came of age in the 1990's those are the uniforms of choice. The road uni was very sharp.
This is in my minds eye:

Pure smooth winning!!!!
