Nah..
They are close to inevitable collapse.
The famine is coming again and sanctions are cutting 1/3 of their cash to get food from the world markets.
The boiler is about to explode and spit millions of refuges into China and South.
They are desperate and want to bargain from the position of strength.
They want to raise the cost of the collapse high enough for us, China, and Japan to keep the regime alive.
This is an old story but with more drama as the end is near.
Hopefully it will not be same as in Cambodia when more that a half of population died before Vietnamese army intervene and remove what left of Pol-pot.

Were you thinking about Trump's foreign policy experience and general temperament when you voted for him?

Kim and his mafia are trying to capitalize on Trump radical position and provoke an escalation.
They believe this will bring China and Russia to their defense.
Make sense but if they overplay the hand it will be the end of the story.

You're assuming their leader is rational- with psychopaths like Trump and him, they become more dangerous when a situation gets more desperate

Kim is Korean and if you deal with this nationals you know that they are very rational.
There is a very sophisticated system to his madness.
Of course the wealth of this nation is running out and death of the system is inevitable.
But they can still stretch it for his lifetime which will be hopefully short.

The collapse isn't inevitable. The crime family who runs the country can hold on for a while while their people suffer. Especially because Trump just drew a huge red line and we'll inevitably have to give them concessions in the form of money and assurances we won't topple them in order to descalaye the situation (you'd think he'd remember bashing Obama for doing the same thing in Syria, but he's not the sharpest tool in the shed)

The situation over there has no good convulsions. Multiple presidents both dem and rep have blundered us into the position we're in today which basically has an inbred meatball gangster blackmailing us with no good solutions besides appeasement. If we attack them or try to stop them by force it's estimated a couple million will die in the first week (including thousands of US servicemen).

There is simply no way Trump can back up his big words without a global catastrophe. Hopefully Mattis and Kelly can convey that to him. Otherwise god help us all.

Dont live far from Seattle so I hope this is peacefully resolved soon. Kim and his Generals arent going anywhere as long as they can keep their luxurious lifestyles, and money in the bank.

This could get ugly quickly with two bat**** crazy leaders. Its up to Trump's Generals to keep him from throwing more gasoline on the fire. Not easy.

Trump has no foreign policy. He goes on instinct.
Trumps bluster is ignorant. "Losing" and "appeasement" means millions won't die. Giving way to N. Korea is not "right" and its what "Losers" do, but who wins if we call the bluffs?
the price on innocent citizens is way way too high so these two *******s can joust their ego's.

Trump is all about him and not much different from Kim. Trump does not realize the bigger man gives way to humanity. His petty little scorecard motivates him.
His supporters love him for this but its plainly ignorant.

Anger sells, don't buy!

Whats the answer. Do nothing now and just let them keep advancing their technology and building up their nuclear arsenal? Very difficult decisions.

Nah...the anti-HRC folks were creating the impression that SHE was going to draft females and attack Russia. Far right and far left clamored that Clinton would get us into WWIII- tRump was the isolationist/nationalist.

Unfortunately for the world, Trump is a larger version of Kim with a larger nuclear arsenal. Other than that, they are pretty much the same person.

They were also putting out fake news on this subject to suppress the women's vote...

So you will prefer millions to die out from famine, in death camps, and from Kim's machine guns...
I guess this what we do for many year and will probably continue doing.
Chines will not do it for us... may be we can pay Vietnamese like we did with Khmer Rouge?
They will gladly squash them... not sure South Koreans will be happy zo...

What I'm saying Martin is this should have never come this far. N. Korea has been trying to be Nuclear capable since the 50s and eventually became Nuclear. Yes there should have been sanctions for China and other countries that were part of N Korea becoming Nuclear.

Another case is Iran and they are headed to become Nuvlear. One thing leaders love is a threat. Sanctions rarely work if a country really wants something they can get what they are looking for.

It was the Bill Clinton administration that made the deal that led to this. "It's a good deal"

BushJr did little or nothing.

Obama ignored it even more. Actually ignored intel on the little nukes being developed and kicked the problem down the road.

Now Trump has to deal with it. What will happen? Whatever it is Trump will get the blame even thought the problem was caused by the 3 guys before him. (to Bush's credit at least he did call the Norks one of the three "axis of Evil" although he was laughed at for it.)

BTW watch Clinton deliver the speech on the deal, it is eerily similar to the one Obama gave citing his Iran deal. They both say "A Good deal" for America. HA!!

How long before the Iran deal blows up in our faces? Actually not literally.

We do this to ourselves. This goes way beyond politics. It used to be that politics ended on at our shores. No more, I guess.

Yet another mistake by Dolan. When will it end?

How do you stop a country from becoming nuclear capable? Especially one like N Korea? Where did we forgo opportunity to limit this? Also, is it up to the USA to make sure EVERY country our the planet does not have nuclear capabilities?

“Sound dialogue is not possible with such a guy bereft of reason and only absolute force can work on him"

+1! This dictator is a total loon. A show of military strength is the only way for us to...hold on, I'm being told there's more to the quote.

“The U.S. president again let out a load of nonsense about ‘fire and fury,’ failing to grasp the ongoing grave situation,” said General Kim Rak Gyom, commander of the Strategic Force of the Korean People's Army, the military branch overlooking the missile units.
“Sound dialogue is not possible with such a guy bereft of reason and only absolute force can work on him,” the commander added.

So that's actually North Korea talking about us. That's like Allen Iverson telling you you need to take better care of your finances. Should be an eye-opener.

So glad we've entered this nuclear dick measuring contest.
