They make the same $ but I think the swap of players would be better fit for both teams

Why would the Suns want to trade Warren for Kuz? Warren is so much better already and is younger with more potential, its totally illogical. Even if they didn't want to resign him they could get someone a lot better than Kuz, he isnt even a league average player

They seemed to like Kuz last year. If you don't ask a girl for a date you'll never know if she'll say yes. Nothing wrong with an offer. I think Josh Jackson is going to get Warren slot anyway

In principle, you are right.

In application, you are likely wrong.

If you never put yourself out there, nothing good is going to happen. Yes, that's true. However like any other job, part of the actual skill set is forming relationships. People are going to want to help and deal with people they like, that they respect, that have commonality with and whom they share many of the same values. This is a life concept, not just a NBA one.

One of the cited pluses on Scott Perry's resume is that he is well known and respected among owners, GMs, agents, scouts, college level coaches, brands, etc, etc.

If you become "that guy", then people will stop picking up your phone calls. Or they will get to them at the very last, out of due diligence, as a courtesy to the basic tenet of professionalism. If someone calls you back, out of sheer obligation to their internal standard of conduct, but grimace every time they have to talk to you, then you've failed as an NBA GM.

Carl Peterson of the KC Chiefs had a nice run of it in that front office. Afterwards, his NFL career never rebounded. He got a negative reputation. Player hated him. Other GMs hated him. He just made everything harder than it had to be.

Briggs, when someone tells you that your trade ideas are non viable, often times, you just lash out.

Here is a link to RealGM's NBA transaction analysis.

I don't agree with everything Chris Reina has to say. Or the other RealGM contributors. But at least, much of the analysis gleans on basic market place value discussions and league trends. My suggestion to you Briggs is to actually read these. Bookmark that link and over time, you'll start to see actual patterns in the discussion and analysis. Why the pundits believe one trade is a good trade TO MARKET or a bad trade. Are they 100 percent correct? No, probably not. But generally, the consensus on value forms the marketplace, so while one person might not agree or like what the majority feels, it doesn't matter. VALUE matters. That's it. The marketplace and it's internal push/pull establish the market. And that's it.

One of the reasons I read through the CBA, is there are things I just don't know. But I want to know or know more.

You can humble yourself and accept there are elements to all of this you can learn. Or you can keep telling people they are wrong when they disagree with you so you don't have to accept there is more to learn after all. It's entirely up to you.

Most people in real life, the marketplace they have to function in is their career/job marketplace. How much does your CEO or boss or company really care if you live or die, as long as it doesn't impact their bottom line. You are useful, you can stay. Maybe. You are not, you are expendable. No mercy. No one care how you feel. You might want it to be different, but that doesn't matter. What you can "earn" is a function of the value your provide or perceived you can provide. What you want means nothing without the leverage to bargain/take it.

Kuz for TJ Warren is a non viable trade against the current and actual NBA marketplace. It doesn't matter what you feel, it doesn't matter what I feel about it. Does this mean non viable trades never happen? Well sometimes front offices in any sports make 'bad trades' in relation to actual market force. But here's the key thing - YOU CANNOT RELY ON THEM TO HAPPEN CONSISTENTLY. And ONE OR A FEW EXCEPTIONS DO NOT DISPROVE THE RULE.

If Perry want to and persists in offering deals the other 29 guys in charge will find in sharp contrast to their own sense of values and what they see as the consensus of the marketplace itself, they will begin to box him out.

In sociology and psychology, I believe the term is "social proof" When the group accepts you, your status and esteem in that social circle goes up. Your options and ability to use that as leverage increases. This is true for every guy here who goes to work every day and is trying to get ahead somewhere. If the right people like you, good things are likely to happen.

I don't think you actually care. But never say no one tried to open up the viewpoint on why so many people here disagree with you.
