Damn, they gotta put these games too early over here. Just looked on Sports Center, saw "Marbury, 31 pts" and ran up to the comp.
Sounds like a great game, and people should be calming down on Marbs performance in the Olympics.

...Too bad they won't be replaying that game.

That Knicks backcourt next year is going to be super-tough to stop once anybody gets it going.

so true! a trio of Marbury, Houston & Crawford will be hard to stop since any 1 of them can carry the scoring load at any given moment if their shots are falling.

hehe i can't wait for the next season to start... Marbury is going to dominate! Other teams will have a handful trying to contain him. He is so explosive of the dribble.
Marbury is finally home at MSG!

Great game for the US. I'm glad to see that they finally came out and played with some heart and desire. It also didn't hurt that they actually shot the ball well. They're going to need to keep doing that the next 2 days.

Very good game by Marbury. For the most part he played under control and took good shots.

Nice game by the US. I'm glad they came out to play, and, particularly, Marbury stepped up his game. Good win and we'll see how they do in the next one.

Marbury has always had the ability to dominate....he will be a dominant player when he can consistenly have games like he did today.

That Game showed why its obsurd to just put Miami up there with Indy and Det-Wade is just not there yet. He looked lost at end of game and I believe pulled by Brown. They (Miami) have the most dominant (maybe only) center in the game. He could win with Kobe-what's makes anyone think he can do it with Wade.

Its soooo easy to see how playmakers make it easier on the frontcourt players.

I'm not going to suggest Jamal Crawford in the same breath at Iverson, but he is a superior ball handler and a great scorer. When you have a guy like him at the 2 you have another dribble penetrator that can create easy shots for other guys. Add TT, another guy with a good handle and you have the defense doing a lot of running around.

The same goes for a good performance as it does a bad one in using it to foreshadow a players performance with his NBA team next year. If a bad performance shouldn't be made too much of, them the same should go for a good one, shouldn't it?

US really responded in the elimination game. The way guys were diving after balls and were flying around was just awesome. At one point late in the game Marbury was in the paint and out jumped all the Spanish bigs for a big defensive rebound. Boozer had some nice moments... the whole team just fed off the play of Iverson and Steph.

Two more baby... I hope we get Lithuania in the final game. That would be SWEEET.

Yes...Knick fans are very happy and overreacting a bit. We all knew that Marbury was capable of the type of performance he put on today. He needs to be consistent and lead the team to victories next season.

Thats a fair assessment.I guess your a glass is half-empty kind of guy and no mine isnt half full with Kool aid! It all depends on the person. They can take the good things out of an experience to make them stronger or they can dwell on the negatives.I believe he will try to draw on the positives and IT will do his best to reinforce it.

i don't think anyone here denies that...some are just reacting to the naysayers who have regularly bashed Marbury's lack of performance in this Olympics.

it's really simple the way i see it...

Marbury was himself today...he didn't hesitate too shoot then shot a brick because of it. He didn't pass up open shots and he penetrated! and flipped it up with his left hand off the glass!

Great point. Also, he struggled in some of the less important games and came through in a huge game that made the difference between the team being able to win the gold versus not being able to win any medal. You can't equate the significance of the earlier games with this game or the next two games. Each of these three games is more important than the previous games.
