Yep....And the fact that John Starks was my favorite player, he made me look at Hardaway a little different. Can he be a John Starks type of guy? If he improves his defense, yet.....He has the talent as Starks on offense, with higher potential. But he hasn't proved he has the same defensive intensity as Starks YET.

Some interesting points....He didnt hold back from being honest about his former room mate. Clyde mentioned how phil dropped the ball with his lack of communication with the fans, the media and most important, his players. And he also mentioned that hes glad we seem to be moving away from trading for over the hill players.

As far as Melo chasing the ring; its a generation thing. Lebron, Paul, Durant, etc were all told by the media and fans that its a strike against their legacy if they dont have a ring. I dont care for the ring chasing, but i understand it from their perspective.

yea man... you and I have not seen eye to eye on some of Phil but I know one thing we do is what an utterly abysmal and damaging failure Phil was in attempting to establish any culture. That is shameful to hear about Tim. You make sure you get on the phone with him, his agent and he finds out through you first. Classless and unacceptable.

I know we overpaid, but Tim really does a lot of things we need, that every team needs. He was really good taking it to the rim. Improved on defense with good #s to show for it and we know he can shoot. With a huge contract I think his agenda changes a bit. He's the old guy of the KP/Willy/Frank core. He's been to the playoffs. He's been to the d-league. His old man is a HOFer in the league. There are a lot of aspects of this signing that could really work out well for the Knicks.

Clyde: I was disappointed when Tim left. I’ll never forget, the night of the (2015) draft, Tim Hardaway was in my restaurant watching it on TV. So he’s sitting there and they announced that he got traded. So how embarrassing; the guy didn’t know what to do. So after about two minutes he got up and walked outside. It’s like devastating. He’s sitting there trying to enjoy the draft and then he finds out he got traded. So I’m happy to see him back. I always thought he was an integral part of what the Knicks could be. He brought quickness, a relentless type of player. He’s like a John Starks. He’s not afraid to take big shots, he makes things happen on the court so I’m delighted to see him back.

Classless and unacceptable.....OK

But if I play devils avocate for a sec.....Why would I tell a young player I'm going to trade you, if I don't know a deal is in place? That trade was last minute! But that doesn't excuse the other bone head moves and signings Phil did. Thats my biggest issue....And thats not all on Phil.....Thats also Dolan for highering a rookie and giving him too much responsibility.

even if its last minute you know they had some call. You tell the agent a couple teams have asked about Timmy with some interesting offers and thats it. It seem like he got blindsided by that. Usually players at least get a heads up. When they find out through the press its never good

Its not just that IMO, if Melo wasn't in the same draft class as Lebron and Wade, wasn't close friends with both of them, I dont believe he would feel as strongly about getting a ring now that he's exiting his prime. Don't fault the man for wanting to get paid, but he wanted his cake and eat it too.
