Since it seems he's the main ingredient in almost every thread here right now, what's your opinion of Melo as a Knick?
He's a disgusting cancer and the worst thing that's ever happened
I don't hate him as a person, i just hate his game and everything about it
I really don't care, i just want him to leave

Probably the same thing you will do when your analytical master, Daryl Morey, trades for the "inefficient" Carmelo Anthony.

I'm surprised no one has brought this up really. It wasn't that long ago half the members on this site were riding Morey's jock and claiming how an NBA executive of his superior basketball mind will ever find any use for a player like Melo.

The only difference is that 99% of J-Rod's posts are about Melo and like 0.0001% of mine are about Morey.
I do think a smart analytics person would recognize that Melo can be a good third option though. So I don't even know what your point is.

There are photos to prove Melo was in Houstan. I can assume there was a meeting of the minds and Melo's role was discussed.
I would think Morey and MDA discussed the validity of this trade for the negotiations took place.
Melo and MDA were reunited just months after resigned for the 2012 USA olympic team. They made it work.
Im thinking MDA if not fine with this deal I doubt would surface this late in the process.

All talented pieces fit together on the Olympic team but when you get to the NBA game, the pieces have to fit in a finely tuned way.

For example, boogie and AD would work if they had Lebron, Klay and CP3 as their other 3. But just them two? Nope.

CP3/Harden/Melo/D'antoni is not a strong mix.

My point is the same as your first post.

Anyway.......I voted I just want him to go away.

This not a poll about Lin. It's about Melo

Melo was and will be the last true superstar that we could have built around. Ofcourse, the Knicks/Dolan were not up for the task. Now Knick fans will dream about picking the next superstar in the draft, only to **** it up (DSJr.) And dream about the next free agent superstar, that wants to come here, only to **** that up and blame him for doing so. (Melo)

But that's not obvious. Let's trade him for Anderson narrative proves that.

If the Knicks actually tanked properly, and a large part of that is on Melo, we would have our next super star right now.

We had no business picking outside of the top 3 last draft but somehow the players and management weren't on the same page about tanking games late last season.

There is still other players to consider on the rockets. D'antoni is a good coach.

Melo
Capella
Reezy
Cp3
Harden

Thats top 4 in the West.

I was being overly dramatic to fish out the Melo haters so they could copy paste their response....

You constantly bring up Jeremy Lin after he was traded like 3-4 years ago and no ones talking about him. You have no room to call anyone overly dramatic.

Superstar come and go. But Melo isn't one he is a good player with flaws. What did Nuggets build around him. Now with his aging and inability to change his game to be more inclusive of teammates that window is closed. Any thought of building around an aging good player was destined for failure.

I really can't even fathom still being this emotionally charged about Jeremy Lin. That was freakin years ago and this guy brings up Jeremy Lin when I see NO ONE even remotely referencing him.

He did that to me too. I don't understand his apathy for a player who is no longer part of the Knicks.
