This is just for fun, but all we really know about a Melo trade is Melo seems prepared to leave.

One thing I've noticed is even fans are already mentally drained, they just want to move on at this point.

Maybe this is Mill's strategy - string this along, knowing Houston and Cleveland don't have the parts he wants and can't likely find them, but seemingly staying engaged.

This gets Melo checking out of NY and mentally checking in with Houston/Paul or Cleveland/James. Maybe at the end of this, what comes out is a Melo who is just not prepared to come back and is willing to play ball by opening up the NTC to more teams and/or leaving more money on the table in a buyout.

Just a random thought.

Mills is making Melo go "ooooooohhhhh". Then he'll hit him with:

"What have you done for me lately?"

"I don't see no ring on that finger"

"HALF!!!"

Phil publicly shamed Melo that if you want to win, it is not happening here for two years.
Soooooo.......don't you want to leave?
Melo like: I want to play in NY, be with my kid!
Phil LIke: So winning is not important?
Fans LIke: Say what now?

Obviously if Mills was pro melo, there would be no more trade talk. NTC was melo's only leverage. Being an outright dyck would damage his brand.
Not saying Phil or melo was right or wrong, but it was quite a joust!!!!

Mill's says he wants to continue the yoot movement. Im good with that. Better than than signing CP3 to 200 mil contract and trading picks to surround them with some talent.
We have seen that movie before.

This is what I keep telling people about this whole thing. Everyone wants to keep saying Melo has all that leverage cuz of no trade clause. That's not completely true because as you stated Mills also has leverage and he can play games with these guys as much as they want. We know that they don't have what it takes to trade Melo. If they want to play games with the Knicks and then guess what the Knicks don't have to trade Melo.

The thing is with all this is the Knicks are going to lose anyway. They are trying to build through the youth. We signed Thjr but he's 25 years old. That's the thing. We don't want Ryan Anderson. We want young guys and we can use picks as well. We can also use cap relief. We're not going to just take anything just so Melo can have his way. Thats just not going to happen.

So this is not just an alternate Theory. This is real life. Melo needs to go to another team. He chose Houston. They don't have nobody to trade. So f*** him. You can come back and sit on the bench. That's the end of that s***. Or they can do all the work and make out worth the Knicks trouble. The Knicks have all the leverage... we have a nice bench he can sit on for a year. Gtfoh

Agreed...but if we swing and miss...trade deadline may yield more.

more than waiving the NTC- he has to waive all of his kicker to make things actually work better for the teams involved

On paper, we all can make nice deals with Houston and a third team- but if Melo wants his $8m or whatever it is he will be owed, then it becomes near impossible to find a deal that even comes close to working.

replies that start with "Yeah"..........

I only hold Mills culpable with the Anucha debacle, but really thats on Dolan. As is the fued with Oak, which is just half of it. Oak is very much at fault as well.
Angry Fans? Mills is responsible for your mood swing?

Think the wedding day jitters are coming from the teams that have to take on the salary dumps. And possibly from the Knicks, if the return is nothing to write home about, specially after the Timmy signing. Melo has always said, "if you tell me you want to go in different direction i will leave". That step has obviously been taken. But I see the reason to push that narrative by those that don't like him.

Your "support" of Melo is showing again. Notice he's the only one you don't refute my comment on.

Not quite sure what Mills has to do with Angry Fans...
So you think Mills is this smart?

Yup, we need to hire a GM ASAP, so we can fire him when the trade deadline approaches.
