Before we had all these score first pg's like Rose and Liliard, the NBA was more inclined to have pass first point guards the like of John Stockton,Nash, Kidd, and even Magic Johnson. Ball seems like the first pass first potential star pg in the league in a while. You could argue CP3 was a pass first, but I'd say he was much more 50-50 scoring to passing than a pass first. It seemed like Rubio has the best potential to become a star pass first when he first came into the league, but in todays NBA you HAVE to be able to shoot 3s. If not your a HUGE liability for that teams offense.

Will we start to see a new crop of pass-first star pgs being drafted higher in the next few years? Makes me wonder.

Gotta be able to shoot! With zone able defense you have to be an outside threat to open it up. Kidd got to HOF because he got his shot.
If Lonzo can hit his shot the rest will fall into place. Guys like Rose and Kyrie get open and can create their own space which is hard, but effective too!

Hard yes....Effective? no....It doesn't do much for the team, when the team is standing around watching you like an And 1 tape.....Then you get a last minute shot, miss an open shot. Off course it's a miss, you get cold standing around watching all game.

Ball and Frank....yes our young pg....is in that class of pass first PG's. The difference is Frank actually takes pride in his defense, and he can shoot. He brings more to a team than a scoring PG. I wanted Monk or Dennis Smith Jr.....for different reasons. But for the teams growth, especially with this youth movement, we need a PG like Frank who can shoot, pass first type, and plays defense. That's a rare combination in todays NBA. The Ron Harper types was the norm back in the days, now its rare....But still needed to grow championship caliber talent. A pass first PG will make a young star like KP reach his potential. THj will help spread the floor. The only problem is how much hes getting paid. But that means we now have to get creative and Dolan pays more luxury tax. Hopefully he restructures his deal, after KD did it for GS....and Wade did it for Miami during their championships.

I was really impressed with his court vision. Excited to see him in a Laker uniform - given that I am about to cut the cord, I may not get to watch much Knick basketball - so I'll have to pick a new team to be a fan of!

You picked an odd time to quit on the knicks. You've had plenty of opportunities in the past.....with all the numerous GMs and clowns that ran this organization. And usually I would get upset with fans jumping ship, but I don't blame you. On the surface, it looks different, but then again, it's the same. Out bidding ourselves is something I regret back with Alan Houston's contract.

But, the plus side...at least we are over paying young players. This should give all knick fans a chance to study other teams and players. See how a good organization supposed to run. I think Ball will bring back LA showtime....And to have the king of showtime as your GM, it's a players dream come true for Ball.
