Melo willing to reconcile with MDA, but can't stay faithful to his wife and thus burned enough bridge to prevent a reconciliation.
He also picked playing with CP3 over being with his son.

League Union went crazy and wanted Phil burned at the stake when Phil said Melo if he wants to win should move on. We were told Melo wanted to be with his kid and loves it in NY.
I did respect Melo when he did say he wanted to stay with his kid. If he dug in and made amendments to his game (He will in Houstan!!!) I could have been fine with him returning.

He will have to change his game to play with Harden and CP3. He will have to accept MDA. He could have done all this in NY. I realize with his marital situation changing he could have still done this to be with his kid.
With Phil gone could he have made it work with Jeff?
If Team is commited to being younger and moveing forward, why are we so upset with Mills heading this? Melo here was not a mills creation. The fact Dolan is willing to trade him to move forward is telling is it not?
Should we be happy Mills is doing a youth movement? We never did any of this before.

Fans should be happy.

When it comes to Melo and his personal life, that's his business and only he and his family know the details of their situation. So I am not going to pass judgement on Melo, his kid, and his family dynamic. And you haven't heard Melo say a word about his kid, it's all been 2nd and 3rd hand sources. Regardless, it's none of our business and for all we know he may have made an arrangement where he could see his kid living Houston almost as much as he would've living in NYC apart from his wife once the season begins.

I am not sure how accurate the stuff we hear about Melo's personal life is. It appears he and his wife are not divorcing and maybe reconciling. I believe his leaving NY was also endorsed by his wife.
In regards to changing his game, when did Melo ever have a teammate like either Harden or Paul. The only time I can come up with would be the Olympics and that turned out quite well.

I just have such a hard time relating to the mindset this even occurs to.

It's basketball, it's fun.

Who gives a **** about his personal life?

Melo using his kids as part of his war against Phil was the height of scumminess.

I called it at the time he was using his family but of course you're called the worst human being in society if you call out a guy who says he just wants to be near his kids. That's the beauty of Melo using them as an excuse, your average goober Nyk fan ate it up.

GTHOH! The biggest hypocrisy is fans thinking they know anything about a players personal life or happenings behind the scenes of a pro sports team. And then say negative personal things on fan forums as fact while sitting in their one bedroom apartment with a ****ty job, hating on the ones that did something in life. Keep it to basketball.

Your right though, Melo should have changed his game for the likes of Lin, Jeffries, Balkman, Fields and Crippled Stat. Cuz they probably were at the same level as Harden and CP3 are today. And Melo was not at his peak. Btw, didn't realize a trade was official.

Melo hasn't spoken publicly since the end of the season. Phil said right before the draft that Melo informed them he wanted to stay in NY. Phil gave Melo a NTC. He tried to shame Melo into waiving his NTC. Phil needed to work with Melonas a partner in moving him, not as adversary. Phil messed up with the contract and how he handled the situation. There is nothing out there where Melo is quoted. I do think there is a chance Melo decided he wasn't going to help out Phil after the presser. Why would he?

Melo only looks out for himself. I predict that He will not adapt to MDA again. BY mid season they will replace MDA with a more Melo minded coach.

Nobody knows how many kids Melo has or how many mistresses or where they are.

Silly to speculate on this stuff.

Even if he doesn't adapt - that wouldn't be up to Melo in Houston. Pretty sure the guy who just signed a contract for $228 million would have more pull.

That said, I heard Harden isn't a big D'Antoni fan either...despite the success he's had with him.

I doubt Melo gets MDA fired or for him to leave. This is Hardens team. CP3 and Melo both made decisions to join forces.

I am not sure what you guys are complaining about. Melo is under contract and he plays. If you ask him will he waive his nontrade power for a trade to cave or Houston, he says yes. But I have yet to hear Melo ask for a trade, and the buyout talk was the direct result of Phils antics. Not sure how Melo has been a hypocrite.

Don't think Melo ever used his kids as part of any war. If he instigated some reports about the subject without directly making any statements we will never know, but it's not cool to blame him four that.

I've never had anything against melo. He seems like he keeps his nose clean off the court. I wont comment on the "mistress" story because I don't know if its true or not. I admit I'm not a big fan of his as a "complete" player and I didn't like the original trade but I never questioned his scoring ability which is one of the best ive seen. Even though I want this trade to happen its not because I dislike him its because both sides need to start over. we need to go through the youth movement and hopefully melo can help a contender.

Melo just sent lala to the oprah show or whatever and leaked reports to the media where he has wanted to go.

Melo put the word out there.

Either Melo doesn't care as much about being near his kids anymore or he was using his kids in a lie all along for PR sympathy points for him and against Phil. Now that Phil is gone and Melo wants to be on a contender, he needs to pivot his stance delicately.

Get real people his whole family life is a charade. He's knocking up strippers and lala don't give 2 fks because it's always been arranged deal for the whole family. Listen to that robot Lala talk about their relationship post 'cheating'.

The hypocrisy was painted not by fans, not by knicks/phil, but in the public eye by Mr and Mrs. Melo. La La on TV saying he is a good dad. Know what good dads don't do?
Break up their families cuz they are horney.
Do I care about any of this before? No. In fact, I've kept it all on the court.
Why bring it up know? Not me, its La La. IT was the push back by the players Union. It was KP sticking up for Melo.
The hypocrisy of making his way to NY to play with knicks, then coached by MDA. He wanted him gone. Now he going again to a MDA coached team. Im sure its all be agreed upon.
The Hypocrisy of "recruiting".
The Hypocrisy of "reports" (but never denied) that he wanted to stay for his son. But he go for CP3.
Nalod bought into this and was ok with Melo for the most part except his not living up to promises made.
Again, I was ok with him wanting to stay.

"Get real" LMAO.

Does your posting of pure sheehit never end? You know what Lala gives a fk about? How do you come by this information? Interviews on Bravo TV? Do you work for TMZ? Have you reviewed their prenup?

Give us some more fabulous "either or" statements of reality. I'm sure PR sympathy points are what Melo lives for, and he only wants to be on a contender now that Phil is gone. This all makes perfect sense now.

Your irrationality is only matched by your seeming need to be shown to be wrong.

Must be nice to live in a world where good dads don't ever make mistakes. Air must be really rare down there in NC.

You have any issue with Mr. LookAtMyFeetStupidMothers not living up to anything near a million a month? Any "Hypocrisy" you wouldn't mind bringing up there?

The "Hypocrisy" of a player saying he wants to stay here, but realizing the remaining management wants him to go anyway.

The "Hypocrisy" of someone changing their minds based on changing circumstances, based on possibly one of the worst wastes of $70+ mil since Noah. Maybe Mills reads the UK and figured out having a bunch of Melo-less yoots who couldn't score 80 points a night if their lives depended on it was a compelling reason to get a hired shooter while looking like his own man at the same time.

The Hypocrisy of Melo and fans.
