If Wall signs the super max and Washington matches Porter's deal they will have to make it work with their current team.

would be nice to get anthony to was. no idea if that can work without a third or more teams and if he would even consider it. it could be a better landing spot for him.

Baltimore is really Melo's home.
Then he can really be "Coming Home"!!!!!
Its been Melo's destiny. Melo off the bench? Beal, Wall and Melo? does that work?

The Nets seem competent all of a sudden. If Washington didnt match they would of had a great offseason considering they lost the #1 pick.

Nets are making marginal players rich. Johnson in Miami, Crabbe in Portland and now Porter in WAS.

They shouldn't match but thank the Nets for screwing over the Wizards

Yeah. They put Washington in a bad spot. Porter is too good to let go for nothing but if they match they are locked in with their current team. I wonder if bringing Porter back gets Wall to commit to the super max deal he was offered.

Porter is more of a known commodity then Crabbe/Johnson. This reminds me more of the deal Harrison Barnes got to the Mavs.

Porter is a good an upcoming player. The Nets seem to want to get back in the playoffs sooner rather than later. I agree it is too much money at this time but in the end, it may turn out to be a good deal for a good young player.

What are the rules now? What can Washington do? Can the S&T him to another team? Or do they have to decide between matching or not matching only?

Yep, they are screwing other franchises. If I were Washington, I would let him walk and then work a trade for Melo. All we would want is a future 1st round pick.

Otto Porter is a terrific young player. If there's any way to get him in a sign and trade for Melo we should do it.

That is wishful thinking. Why would they not play a young player and pay more for a old on the decline player.

If he signed the offer sheet a trade for Melo is not possible.

I still think Melo is better than Porter and over the next four years, they might be able to keep him for less than Potter. I think if we threw in Quinn and a second round pick, that might be something they look at and it gives us a good young SF.

Are you kidding? Melo is a -4 in offensive and defensive rating. Porter is a whopping +21 he is one of the top players in plus minus. Porters usage is 15 and Melo's is higher at I think 26. But when Porter is on the floor he make a monster difference.

+\- means nothing. Compare the stats across the board and Melo is a better player and scorer. Now I will concede that porter is better defensively and is still improving but if we threw I. Quinn and a draft pick, I think Washington would be a better playoff team with Melo. You have to look at what Melo could do if he were playing with washingtons guards last year.

That is where you are wrong plus minus determines wins in the league. Melo is not the better offensive player he takes more shots and doesn't contribute to system basketball.

I get that a lot of you need to be told who your superstars are but Melo isn't a superstar. Porter is also the better offensive player because when he is on court his team is scoring at a ridiculous pace. Porters offensive rating is 129.

Why do you think Nets are after him they see the difference that Porter makes.
