It's scary when you think that teams at the level of NO, Lakers, Utah, etc. will wind up with lottery picks.

Most people on this thread ranked NYK in the top 4 but I dont think thats going to happen. I think we will be closer to a 6,7 or 8 seed.

We were 7th with Eisley starting at PG for a third of the season, Shandon Anderson as the starting SG for almost half the season, and Weatherspoon as the first frontcourt player off the bench for about a third of the season. We should be much better than last year just because We have Marbury, Crawford, and an improved Sweetney for a full season

MEM & NO were 2 tough teams to leave out, but the Kings ended the season on a bad note last season & have some ongoing issues in the locker room that don't bode well for their team chemistry next season.

All this time I completely forgot about Nash signing with Phoenix. I guess it would be a toss up for the division between Phoenix and Kings.

you know I thought most people overrated the Knicks, but when you put it that way its hard not to see us improving dramaticly in the win column. Remember, Spoon was only the 2nd off the bench because they lacked rebounding in the 2nd unit... he was actually slated to be the starter.

Southeast- Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Orlando, Washington
Northwest- Denver, Minny, Portland, Seattle, Utah
Pacific- GS, Clips, Lakers, Phoenix, Sac town
Southwest- Dallas, Houston, Memphis, NO, San Antonio
Assuming there are no big injuries to any team's key players, I'd go with

East
1. Miami
2. Detroit
3. New York (winners of their division)
4. Indiana
5. Cleveland
6. Boston
7. Philly
8. Washington

It was tough filling the 7th and 8th spots

West
1. Dallas
2. Minnesotta
3. Sacramento
4. San Antonio
5. Denver
6. Houston
7. LA Lakers
8. Utah

when looking at the atlantic division--i looked at the teams who were most hurt by injuries and the winner was philly. I quantified who they added and what their probelsm were last year

they added
Brian Skinner 6-9 265
Corliss Williamson 6-7 250
Mark Jackson 6-10 250 [who really was hurt most of last year]
to play with Dalembart and Kenny Thomas

to me no team in the Atlantic comes close to matching up with the sixers in the middle

they also added Andre Iguloda and have commited to Willie Green as a starter moving Big Dog to 6th man off the bench

they also have Salmons Mckie Korver Buckner and Ollie for the most depth in the division. the team now has a very nice diversification of athletiscm depth size and as long as AI play a tad more like a PG this team is a clear cut favorite

C- Dalembart 6-11 240
PF Thomas 6-7 245
SF Williamson 6-7 245
SG Green 6-4 215
PG AI 6-0 175
C Jackson 6-10 265
PF Skinner 6-9 265
SF Robinson 6-8 240
SG Mckie 6-5 220
PG Iguloda 6-6 200

Dude you are so biased. Jackson, Williamson and Skinner are role players at best. Iguadola is a rook. The rest of the team is garbage, Delambert is a pooer man's Camby, no offensive game whatsoever. That is a horrible horrible shooting team they have in Philly. Iverson can't play by himself. The Knicks are def better.

We have much more firepower, more deapth, and more talent. And putting Boston ahead of us with Payton not even playing for them is pure idiocy.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Im not looking at any individual player--im looking at what the team has in totality. Philidelphia is a better rebounding and defensive team[ {including shot bklocking} and has a nice combination of outside shooting depth and athletiscm.

Anyone can have an opinion on who is better, but assuming the Knicks as a superior team is much more biased than a true quantative analysis of the teams.
