I'd take Eric Gordon, a future 2020 first and two future (2018/19) secound round picks.

Gordon is a good shooter who fits in with Ntilikina and Baker, both sharing the backcourt with them, and coming off the bench. He fits Hornachek's secondary break, quick firing early offense. He ran similar things in Houston. With Paul coming to Houston, they don't need Gordon as much. The two drafts picks are the key.

With Gordon, Lee, Thomas we would have three stand out shooters from 3 point are around KP/Ntilikina.

We could use this rotation going a bit smaller but faster with Lee at 3, Gordon at 2 and Ntilikina at 1.

Hernangomez/O'Quinn/Noah
Porzingis/Kuzminskas
Thomas/Lee
Gordon/Dotson
Ntilikina/Baker

That rotation will score the ball, be fun to watch and also use our 3 main assets - KP, Willy and Ntilikina in one lineup with GREAT floor spacing around them because KP, Lee, Gordon and Nti can all shoot from outside.

Houston needs to add depth and some cheap free agents but the core of their team is

Capela
Melo
Ariza
Harden
Paul
6th man: Anderson

Pretty crazy good team on offense. But can D'Antoni coach Melo/Paul in one lineup with Paul? And defensively ... that's not a great lineup. But they are going to try to outscore Golden State and that's the kind of lineup that has firepower to stay with State.

Melo for Gordon and Ariza. Sign George Hill. Play ball! 55 wins!

I don't think Houston would give us picks and two starters like that. That's a lot for Melo. My main interest in the Melo deal is picks and a veteran that can fit with the core group of young players like KP/Willy/Nti. Ariza fits, but I can't see them give us Ariza AND Gordon AND picks. I definitely want the draft picks.

I dont know Houstons draft pick status, but the only deal I an interested in is Melo to Boston for Crowder and next years Nets pick. Ariza is nice but older. Gordon needs to come off the bench to manage his injuries. I would need Ariza and at least 2 picks and NO Ryan Anderson contract.

No way that team wins 55 games...I would take a page out of the Sixers playbook and go into full tank mode this yr and hope to secure the #1 pick and take Michael Porter. Porter is a 6'9 SF....has all the tools to be an all NBA player...The type of transcending talent we desperately need...

Tanking is for losers and cheaters. I'd rather go with a two track approach (as Phil was doing) where we sign good veterans (he wasn't always successful obviously) while at the same time adding great young players with room for growth (KP, Willy and Frank fit this bill). That's why I'd add George Hill, a terrific player who plays the right way, in a second.

Melo's market value goes up once Hayward is signed. Houston, Cleveland and probably Boston all would be looking to get Melo.
Would Houston move a first round pick with Anderson?

News is, Knicks looking to deal Lee. And you still need a PG. Dont think Frank is ready to start.

32 year old role player and injury prone tunnel vision guard. How is that a True rebuild or getting younger? No thanks.

There is no Houston deal possible without Ryan or Gordon.

I think it will be Ryan. There just needs to be a pick included and I think the dal gets done. Morey is pretty crafty.

So take on 4 years of Anderson to get rid of two years of Melo?? No thanks. The sooner we open cap space the better for us.

I just think that is what will happen. Morey is a mover and shaker. He gets things done. He moved a first to get Lin's deal off of his cap.

There's no way I touch Ryan. He doesn't fit at 3 or 4 for us. We need to leave minutes open at 4 for KP. KP should play minutes at 4, and slide over to 5 when Willy sits. We need to find an athletic defensive minded stretch 4 in those scenarios. Lance Thomas will do for now. Ryan Anderson is not good enough on defense to play that role nor is he good enough to play starting 3. His defense will make Melo's look great.

If we deal Melo, we should get quicker, smaller, better at shooting. Also, obviously, get future draft picks as assets to use for another trade or to have. Do NOT trade Melo for a slow wing like Anderson on a massive contract.

Would you do Melo to Lakers for Deng and Randle? I could maybe see them offering that.
