This is getting outta hand, they are strait up attacking Phil and making his job very difficult. Look at how over blown they turned the KP trade rumors into. Phil has every right to listen to offers and try to jump start the rebuild. He basically told teams KP was unavailable unless they were willing to give up the moon. It's basically Phil laughing at teams calling about KP well if you want him your giving up the farm and your future. KP should be honored in what Phil did basically your untouchable.

Instead the media attacked Phil calling him delusional really, is it delusional I'm pretty sure 99.9 GM's do the same when another team calls about there superstars . They all say your going to give us the moon in return.

If the Boston trade went through it would have set this franchise up for serious contention... the media instead attacked Phil.

The melo drama was Phil really wrong to tell a aging borderline all star, he'd be better off elsewhere? Especially one that's not willing to change his ball stopping ISO ways? This team is in full rebuild mode, Anthony will be 37 by the time this team is ready to contend. Phil is team first in his thinking of trying to get what he can for melo while he can for the rebuild. Now as a 11 time champion coach he probably told melo look we are far away from contending and your window is closing for playing at your level, I've seen the age of decline in a lot of stars.. you should go to a contender while you can and compete.

Instead of the media agreeing with Phil which they should. They attacked him saying he killed Melos trade value which is laughable. A players ability is the only thing that kills value.. I doubt a opposing gm is thinking well the media said Phil called Anthony out for holding onto the ball to long and he'd be better off elsewhere . I'm not going to offer my trade to help my team contend ... lol are you kidding me?

Again the media needs to take a chill pill. The media is the biggest culprit this team has never been able to rebuild since the Ewing trade. Phil made the mistake of being pressured by the media once in offering melo his contract to stay.. now he's strictly sticking to his guns and doesn't give a flick what the media portrays him as.. and jimmy Dolan finally isn't listening to the media finally we can rebuild as long as jimmy keeps staying outta the team plans by listening to the media. Phil is going to be the first gm in nyk team history to successfully rebuild the team.

If the sports writers and media are truly knick fans and know this team has needed a rebuild for 15 years instead of star plucking and giving up the farm. Like we have for the past 15 years with the likes of mcdice,Starberry,Steve Franchise, Tracy mcgrady, Carmelo Anthony, Andre brags. All players the media said we need, we want, think about where this team would be if we never traded for those players the picks we should have had, the TEAM we could have built if we didn't give up the farm for melo. The main reason Donnie Walsh didn't want melo it funked his rebuild, but at the time James Dolan listened to the media and went out and got melo . Imagine where we would be if that never happened and Walsh actually was able to rebuild, we'd probably be contending for a chip.

Donnie stepped down because he realized he'd never be able to rebuild in ny when the owner actually listens to the garbage the media told him to do..

Now the owner stepped back and isn't listening Phil has the golden ticket to rebuild in New York and the media is still trying to sabotage his rebuild . We can only hope that jimmy Dolan continues his process in allowing Phil to rebuild and not fall for the temptation of the media, who consistently calls for star plucking and a revolving door for head coaches and front office employees.

Phil might actually create the first contender in 20 plus years and a team winning culture the first since red.

If the media doesn't funk us and get through to mr Dolan we will be in good shape.

Building blocks in KP,Willy, nitty, next years lottery pick, good role players in oquin, baker,Dotson, lee, maybe a young free agent in this off season.

The knicks future hasn't looked this bright since Walsh and before the melo trade.

Now media STFU and allow the goodness of a rebuild to actually happen, we've needed you to take a chill pill for 20 years now actually take one !

Sincerely,

In Phil we trust, the real fans of NYC

Phil has provided plenty of ammunition...The Fisher fiasco, interfering with his coaches, calling players out through social media, Rose game day AWOL, Noah drug suspension (Phil signed both players), Oakley situation, player rebellion (allegedly), KP skipping exit interview, promising to be more open with media at the beginning of season and then going back on his word, constant roster turnover, triangle, giving Melo the NTC then through the media tells the world that your player would be better off elsewhere....80-166 since taking over (I may be a few games off)....

Phil is a polarizing figure and when you are a big name/star and things don't go right, you get the brunt of the blame (See Melo). If we want the media to stop attacking him, he needs his team to put together some winning seasons. Winning cures most. And stay off social media...

The media is losing it's credibility out of sports and in sports all the same. Jackson's backed by Dolan anyway.

Yeah Donnie Walsh was so great telling everyone what the Knicks plan was ahead of time so we got our ass handed to us in every trade. Not only that his draft picks were putrid. Demar Derozzan should be a Knick right now, Brook Lopez, bad choices from Walsh every time. Telling everyone that would listen how much we wanted to draft Steph Curry

Transparency with media isn't always a good idea. The NY media is full of A-holes. They think they know what they are doing very good at second guessing and love to create drama and chaos. Turning mold hills into mountains with false narratives.

The media scare free agents away they have been the worst enemy of the sports teams. Everyone says this is NY and all that but the Knicks haven't had a big time FA sign here in like forever. Why? Look no further than the media. Who would want to deal with these guys they are the nastiest bunch in the world. There is not one positive bone in some of them.

It's not Phil that's driving away FAs.

It's not the media.

It's the team.

When the team is young and on the verge of competing seriously in the playoffs with a good cap situation, that's when quality free agents will look to sign with the Knicks. Not before.

It's Phil's job to manage the cap situation and draft picks. Him being likable to idiot Knick fans or the media is largely irrelevant.

It's the media. They chase away free agents because they simply make the same money else where and don't have to deal with the media.

Phil did what other GMs do. When teams call pelicans about Anthony Davis, we really don't hear about it. But it's no different here with porzingis, except that it's ny so the media finds out and goes crazy.

The media in NY Assola etal and nationally are out for Phil. Melo and KP have lit the flame and the media needs no reason to hate other than controversy is what they life for. While Phil made errors i.e. Noah and NTC for example, he's astute and appears to have learned from his mistakes.
There's no better coach in league than Pops. While not the GM, he runs it all obviously. He was the first to create a Euro Foreign based team with Parker Ginobli, the Brazilian Center etc. and it worked and they are today the epitome of team ball in the league. As the NBA has 19 year promising draftees who can shoot from 3 presumably they lack fundamentals and maturity. Thus, Phils ripped a page from Pop and between KUZ,'Billy,'KP Kima, Vikocic, and now a coach de Spain - they are poised for team play. Baker fits this mold and Randle will as well.

Forget the media. Phil has a plan and he's executing it.

At least we have Risen to tuck us in at night with his wonderful insight.

https://www.fanragsports.com/nba/knicks/rosen-knicks-re-sign-derrick-rose/

According to several local media sources, Phil Jackson was greatly impressed with Derrick Rose’s testimony in his exit interview. Plus, Rose has publicly stated that he sincerely wants to return to New York...

He does seem willing, and if he can indeed tweak his approach, the Knicks might be moved to sign him to a two-year contract at a reduced cost—say, $20-24 million.
