Kornet can have a Channing Frye type of role in the NBA. Role player who can be packaged in with a Lebron James, Greek Freak or Russ type of do it all drive and kick player and make it rain.

Was hoping for more ball handling and play making from Dotson but I guess he wasn't able to bring that over from the combine.

Dotson looked much better as the game progressed so that's encouraging. Labeyrie is good!

Just finished watching the game....Here's my rundown...

Rathan-Mayes: Was very impressed with him. Was more under control and comfortable running the point than Randle. Has good size 6'4, 200lbs...Was aggressive going to the basket. Made some buckets (including a 4 pt play) and was pretty good defensively. Want to see more of him...

Randle: Obviously, dude can score the ball. He led the team in scoring but he struggling immensely trying to play point. At times, he couldn't get the ball over half-court when under pressure and he's too small to play the 2. Knicks didn't help him out much as they didn't run much high PNR to bail him out.

Kornet: Lights out shooter from the perimeter and makes for a perfect pick and pop big. A Channing Frye type player. Didn't see much from him on the defensive end.

Dotson: Dude has a nice stroke. Made a couple of 3's but he seemed to be rushing a bit. He would benefit from a drive and kick point guard.

Louis labeyrie: Way more confident and comfortable than in previous years. Looks like he belongs. He showed range out to the 3 point line as well as some mid range...Got overpowered a few times on the defensive end by Wood though.

Plumlee: Well schooled on the fundamentals. Ran the floor well (nice chase down block) ,boxed out, , rebounded well, and finished around the basket. Shows some explosiveness. Played well. Can stick as an end of the bench player on the cheap.

Barry: Made a few jumpers, hustled as well. Need to see more to see if he's an actual NBA player.

Hayes: Struggled to finish around the rim. He's a below the rim player and at 6'8 can get swallowed up in the paint by better athletes...

Artist: Didn't show much....

Korbut is the truth. I am surprised this guy did not get drafted. I think he will be better than Frye.

Would like to see some moves in the post...recall seeing some in clips.

If he continues to work on his body, he has a place in the NBA.

I was watching him move without the ball on the perimeter and was impressed, and he has a quick release.
Remember the guy had a late growth spurt...I expect his game and his mental process as a player are still evolving.

Wonder which of our BB people fell in love with him?

Walt didn't you talk up how good Nigel Hayes was the last 2 years?

I was impressed with Kat Barber of the Mavs...If he gets cut, Knicks should look into bringing him in to training camp to get a closer look. Kat has feline quickness...Reminds me of Ish Smith.

2 Years?

I've seen him have some good games...both of us saw him push Stein around.

I did like the idea that we picked him up.

He did not play big yesterday...no doubt about that. His big issue is consistent shooting. I also think he has to be more assertive.

I think Jackson wanted him for the Triangle...I think Hornacek liked Korbut, though I have NO proof of either of these assertions.

One thing nobody has mentioned about Hayes yesterday...he actually had 2 assists along with his 6 rebounds, and I seem to recall one thread the needle assist that was pretty impressive.

Also had a spin move from the post that his opponent fouled him on...a move that was pretty impressive.

He still has to hit shots, though.

Just to get a shot in at you...Christian Woods, who has been a favorite of yours for years, looked like a first game SL player yesterday. For a guy with all the athletic ability he has, I saw little if any improvement to his game.

But hey, we can't be right all the time.

Our interior defense is atrocious...Plumlee not athletic enough at times and Layrie is too light in a##!

I agree. He seems like he should have a roster spot somewhere. He stands out in the d/g league.

Dotson looks like a player--has the ability to lock down as a defender and a great shooter.

Team looks horrible so far.

And for those who are unable to watch, Knicks have run some triangle...Offense too predictable and standard when they run it...Started off the game with that corner entry pass of the triangle and it got stolen by Kennard...With Artist and Dotson in thegame at the same time, Knicks need to spread the offense to open up the paint as its too crowded in there a times....

agreed...Plumlee, Barry, Louis, Kornell have taken a stop back today...Kornel finding it difficult to shake free for open looks. Barry looks like a G leauger thus far and Plumlee getting overwhelmed in the paint. Louis needs to get stronger as he's getting pushed around in the paint...Still got another half to play...
