Frank Ntilikina's coach at Strasbourg, Vincent Collet, will coach with the Mavs Orlando Summer League team - Dallas all in on Ntilikina

-------------------

I wonder if they will try and swap picks with Minnesota. They have to be concerned about the Knicks.

Phil should call Cuban and tell him he is taking Frank unless he gets a good offer. If Cuban moves ahead of NY to take him, it will mean a least one player should fall to us we didnt expect.

I think its feasible he's on Minnesota's radar. Every assumes they will look to put a shooter at the 4 next to KAT. Sota's defense was terrible. They have some guys who score. Drafting Ntilikina might be a very Thibs move. Doesnt make mistakes. Hits his shots. Looks for others. Defends #1... Wolves have a lot of young guys who know how to score. Not so many team guys who know how to win and defend.

Frank N would fit really good with their pieces. Curry, Matthews, Barnes and Noel.

I think that makes me believe Cuban knows we're not drafting Nti.
I've felt for the last few days we are going with a shock pick like Kennard or a safe pick like Monk. Other option is someone dropping and us taking him at 8 such as an Isaac.

Whoever drafts Frank. I feel it would be wrong for them to plug him in at PG and try to develop him that way. I would plug him in as a 3 & D guy for his first 2-3 years. Having him guard the opponents best guard. While gradually increasing his work load as a play maker as he matures and works on his game. With the goals of making him a 2ndary play maker that a team with a good PG would have to also worry about off of swing passes, broken plays etc.

The games that put him on the map. But yet he is said to have no killer instinct. Opponents sagged off refusing to give him penetration so banged 3 after 3 off the dribble with Kobe like shooting form(No he isn't Kobe just comparing the shooting form on some of his shots). He shows he can create shots for himself off the dribble even if you cut off his ability to drive which is huge. If that ability translates which isn't a guarantee it would open up penetration which his pass first mentality would make him a weapon.

For me it's all about understanding how good of a shooter he really is. If i know that his shooting and defense will instantly translate to the NBA, i'll be happy with the pick.

I think the Mavs already have some type of trade to move in front of us (Wolves) or they wouldn't be making it so obvious how much they want Frank Nitty.

Possibly. You're right leading up to the draft you never see team basically say that they want just want 1 guy like the Mavs have sort of been saying. I'm really starting to think one of the bigger names is gonna fall

if the Mavs really have a hard on for Frank, the Knicks should also try to get in on the trade action... The Knicks are obviously interested in Frank but I don't get the feeling that they love any one prospect more than the others

Yeah, Frankie is going to the mavs, either with pick#6 or #7
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

this could just as easily be a smoke screen to draft Monk. Teams do that stuff

You're right. But i don't think i have ever seen a team hire the player's coach for summer league as a smokescreen. That's pretty significant.

Recruiting him? He's not a free agent.

It's Mark Cuban... he's like a coked up forum poster that happens to own a team. He can't just chill and be cool.

If Cuban wants him that bad he can make a trade with us. You want him that bad then make a offer punk

I think if the Knicks want him we might have to be prepared to move up. The Mavs were rumored to be 💭 by about a Rubio Trade. I wouldn't be surprised if that involved a pick swap.

Though to be fair they have even less assets than the Knicks right now.

If Dallas move up, then that means someone falls, which I'm happy about as I don't want Ntilikina

I'm not a fan of Frank N. I don't think a team like the Kmicks can squander a pick as we haven't seen him enough and his offense is questionable. Let Cuban cut a deal at 7. Maybe the result is Monk or Smith or Tatum or Isaac.
Count me in on those guys.
