If we could come away from this draft with this i'd be more than happy.

Tatum would be a nice get but the trade doesn't make sense financially for the Blazers. Why trade a 1st 23rd pick with a guy who's contract is only guaranteed $1m? It makes more sense to pkg the draft pick with a player that has more money and more years on their deal. The Blazers can simply cut n stretch Ezeli's contract for 333k over three yrs

Yeah i thought that trade looked a little odd myself but i'm all for whatever trade they can come up with with Portland as long as there's at least one of their 1st round picks coming our way, but the players they have us choosing at #8 (J.Tatum), #20 (D.White), #44 (E.Sumner), #58 (C.Oliver) would all be great choices. I haven't given too much thought to D.White but i really really like both E.Sumner and C.Oliver and think both could be great 2nd round picks.

Is the market centers really this bad where a multi-dimensional big man, on a reasonable contract, with a 20PER in limited time can only garner the 20th pick in a draft?

I wonder if Fetus Ezeli's contract maintains its "non-guarantee" if he's traded? If so, I'd be willing to flip a protected 2nd round pick that never gets conveyed for it. A team like the Pelicans would have interest in it and if they were willing to surrender an unprotected second rounder as well as pick swaps in 2018 and 2019 for Omer Asik....I'd do it. I think that little experiment of their's (with Davis and Cousins) will blow up in their face and make their picks valuable commodities if Cousins ends up leaving.

He had surgery on his knee. Is he out for awhile next year?

Why would Phil take Tatum, he hates Melos game why draft another ball stopper? I could see Tatum slipping out of the lottery. It's still frank no way Phil doesn't take frank at 8 he has everything Phil loves in a player and he is only 18

I'm not sure but I read an article about how surgeries tend to be pretty common in the offseason. I wonder how invasive it was.

Another word for ballstopper is "star". Ultimately, it's what he chooses to do with the ball and how frequently he breaks from the offense that will determine if it's worth having the ball in his hands.

I have heard a couple of draft experts say they think Tatum is the second or third best player in the draft. I agree that he appears to be slipping but I doubt he is there at 8.

Just because he is compared to Melo it doesn't mean he will be exactly Melo. He will not come in as a franchise savior and given the keys to the offense so he can ease into his game and develop other parts of his game. That's why Coaching and FO moves are very to a young player development.

Because you can mold a young player just out of college to play in the NBA the right way while they're willing to listen and be a good teammate.

I think Tatum KP and Billy are a super trio and solid PGs are available At 20-26: hang in folks. It's a rebuild.

I think you are absolutely right. Nobody seen to be thinking of that Issac is the player I would trade up for.

We shouldn't even be thinking about trading up when we're just about to start pretty much a full on rebuild. Trading up means trading draft picks which we can't afford to do.
